So I called Oak View Law Group(the number that is on this site to do debt consolidation) for two installment loans that I owe to Check n Go and Cash Call. I owe Check n Go about 5500 dollars of a 2000 loan that I took out with bi weekly payments of 309 and I'm not sure how much I owe cash call but I took out a loan for 1500(only got 1000) and I have to pay 200 a month. So Oak View said that they could consolidate my debt by me paying them 250 a month for the next 17 months and my debts will be settle. I agreed. I want to see if anyone else has done this or if anyone has any feedback for Oak View Law Group for me. I sure as hell do not want to be scammed and owe thousands of dollars for my installments loans. I live in NJ and I took out a loan with Check n Go when was in Ohio. Please any advice on whether or not I made a good decision is really want I'm asking. Thanks in advance!

To be honest with you, now that you live in New Jersey, I don't know if the loans are even enforceable anymore. I know for a fact PDLs are illegal in New Jersey, but since you lived in Ohio when you took them out I don't know how that applies. I'd see what one of the more informed members has to say first. In my experience, those debt settlement agencies are generally not a good idea and are a waste of money if you know what you're doing with negotiating. A debt consolidation loan is different and is a good idea in many cases though.

It doesn't matter though since they are not licensed to operate in NJ. Check N Go I know is a store front operation. Cash Call isn't licensed in NJ either and I don't know about Ohio but I'd imagine they aren't. The point is, can they chase her for the massive fees on debts that are not valid in her new state? Something I am wondering... the debts I deal with in my job are, well, valid everywhere in the US :P
