I live in the State of Minnesota. I guess I took out a payday loan through Quickest-Payday-Loan.com (MTE Financial). Well They called my ex husbands house on 07/27/2012 and told him that i needed to get ahold of them by 07/30/2012 12:00 PM EST. Because I could be facing fraudulent charges. From the information my ex provided me I had no clue who i was calling and why. Well the loan was for 390.00 now up to 1210.00 with default fees out of the kindness of their hearts :| they knocked off 400.00 but in order to take advantage of this i would need to pay 405.00 immediately. Like that was going to happen :-? So I tell this lady that i do not have that kind of money, she says well ma'am just remember they took away 400.00. I said well that waqs nice considering the loan was for 390.00 :-?. I do remember the loan and i do rememebr back in 2008 i was a hurting girl financially. So I offered to pay $100.00 on 07/30/2012 and 50.00 biweekly after that. Well they would not approve it. I called ACS (Litigation collection company) 3 times today was transferred and put on hold finally someone comes back on and says all of our Attirneys are in a meeting (right! I work for a call center, I know how they operate) well noone ever called me back... So I have been doing my own researching on the MInnesota Attorney Genrals Website and come to find out PDL is not even licensed in Minnesota. I am willing and able to pay off the 390.00 but i dont know how to go about it any suggestions?

Come on, if you did all that research yourself AND work for a call center you're smart enough to know the next step. Tell the collections agency (via mail or email, do not use the phone) that you will repay the principal. Did you pay anything towards this loan already? If so, deduct what you've paid on the loan already and pay the difference. If they don't accept it, tell them you'll pay nothing then. Make sure you are aware that they bought bad debt and that you are not an uneducated consumer and will not be fooled. Tell them they can sue you for an unenforceable loan, or they can accept the principal balance back on your terms. Their choice.

Thanks for your input. Yes I did do my own research and Yes i work in a call center and yes i am smart enough to figure out the next step. I guess i was just looking to make sure my research was correct before i start sending out emails. These People are not fun to deal with and i was very upset. But i do appreciate your input.
