Anyone dealing with these guys? I am getting no response from them.. I won't call them..I sent an email and a letter, I changed my bank account 3 weeks ago, my loan with them will be 2 weeks overdue on thursday..They have not contacted me at all. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I only owe them $150..Should I just keep sending payments?

What is the reason that you changed your account? Did they over-charge your account?

It's really tough to say if no-response from them is a good sign or bad. Chances are you will be getting collection calls once your account is default. Working with collection agency for payday loan is a nightmarish experience.

Since the amount is not too high, contact them and make suitable payment arrangements. Always keep records of your payments. Ask for receipts. And insist them to make a written agreement of the deal.

You can go through this thread to know how others feel about this lender-

Thanks..I really think my contact info for them is not accurate. Anyone have a physical address for them? The letter I sent was to New Mexico, but it seems that others on this forum say they are in Nevada..Anything will help!

I sent a certified letter to the Nevada address and they received it. I have not heard back from the yet either but first payment was made through my debt consolidation company. Do a search in the forums and you will learn what others have done to work with this company. Keep us posted. Also, do know they are not licensed to loan money so they are operating illegaly. If you have any trouble with them, file a consumer complaint in your state and in Nevada with the AG's office.

Thanks Stanley and Mishele. You guys on this forum are a Godsend.
If united cash loans is not authorized to loan money then how can they collect on loans they've given out? Why are they still in operation? Is it possible that they are not still in operation and that's why no one has heard from them? I am learning so much.

finsfan13,

Don't take any crap off of United Cash Loans. They will deny ever receiving anything from you and they will harass and threaten. When you send the letter to Nevada, be sure to send it certified with return receipt, that way you have proof that they received it. Do not send any money to the Oklahoma address. I have admission from Mike Tank that the Oklahoma address is a fake.

You have to check it with Consumer Protection Office of your state. Call them up and inquire if this company is still in business.

The reason all are asked to file complaint with FTC, BBB and AG's office is that once a huge number of complaint is lodged there, the companies doing bad business will undergo an investigation. So if a company, engaged in wrong practices, is still in operation, file as many complaints as possible with local authorities.

I had a loan with Preferred and United cash loans last year. They would not take part in my debt management plan with debt reduction Services, but sent my accounts to a collection agency in Houston. The collection agency has been very good to work with, actually. They consolidated both of the loans into one payback amount and let me pay $60/month. I started paying last August and have three more payments to go. Hope this help!

Honestly, I don't know how these companies get away with it when they are not licensed to do business or loan money. The more I hear and learn what other people are going through, the more determined I am to help in any way I can with what I've learned from my experiences. I have not been contacted by UCL myself so I don't have grounds for a complaint yet. When they do, I will be sure to file a complaint against them.
