Can anyone tell me how to find a list of who is licensed and unlicensed in to do business in the state of NJ? How do the NJ payday loan laws apply to internet payday loans? I am dealing with a few companies and upon finding the NJ Payday loan laws, I tried to pay off one of my loans and the company tried to charge me the full finance fee - I mentioned that in the state of NJ, I am held to 30% interest/finance fee and since I am paying the loan off before the due date that they rate should be cheaper. The company told me that I was wrong and NJ laws do not apply to them since it is an internet loan company. So before I drown in payday loans - what can I do to help relieve what I seem to owe?

I have been reading and realize that store payday loans are illegal in the state of NJ - however these are all internet payday loan companies - so what options do I have - I tried talking with one company and they said that NJ laws do not apply to them because they are not located in NJ.

Lenders
500 Fast Cash
Shoreline Financial
Mesa Financial
Extra Funds
VIP Cash (QLoot)
Ameriloan
Fireside Cash
Sure Advance
Cash Jar

So you really got a refund from QLoot - I tried talking to them last night and they told me just as the other company since I did this on the internet that nj laws do not apply and that it was like I entered their state to create the loan. They said I was wrong in my information about interest.

If I can get a refund from them - that would be great. How long did it take - do I just send him an email and wait for some type of response or should I also send a certified letter?

Yes, I really did get a refund. It took about 2 to 3 weeks of emails back and forth but eventually i did receive it. You may want to mention that you have sent letter to your state's financial commission and they are investigating. When I mentioned this, his attitude changed. Keep pushing, I think you will get one.
