I have received 10 calls today from these people. The number that shows up on the caller ID is 615-309-6017 & 615-370-0412. Each time they call they keep telling me that we have been approved for a house loan that we applied for on the 10th of January and we haven't even looked at a loan of any sort. I tell them this and ther response is, you had to of for us to get the information. They wouldn't answer any of my questions and one of the questions I asked was what is our physical address and Bruce responded he couldn't give me that information over the phone do to the privacy act. How can I get them to stop calling when we never applied for a loan and I have asked several times today for them to quit calling?

Hmmm???seems they have adopted aggressive marketing strategies. Keep eye on your credit report. Chances are once you give your physical address to them, they will run a credit inquiry which might hurt your score.

If they call you again, ask for the supervisor and strictly tell him to remove your name from the list. Are you registered with Do Not Call registry?

You need to make one move and all the credit offers from different companies will stop coming to your place. Contact the credit bureau and enable the opt out feature in your file. Once it is activated, the credit companies will stop placing offers to you.

Equifax, Inc.
Options
PO Box 740123
Atlanta, GA 30374-0123

Experian
Consumer Opt-Out
701 Experian Parkway
Allen, TX 75013

TransUnion
Name Removal Option
P.O. Box 505
Woodlyn, PA 19094

You can also send your letter to the Direct Marketing Association. Your name will be removed from the system after your request is received.

Direct Marketing Association
Mail Preference Service
PO Box 643
Carmel, NY 10512

If you take these steps, you won't get the tempting credit offers that might increase your debt problems in the later stage.

It seems to be promotional call. If the company is newly launched, chances are they have collected phone # in a random basis and started calling people. They might collect contact # from local directory or some other places.

However, as tt said, the risk of ID theft is also there; keep a close eye on your credit report and bank account statement. IMO, do not panic right now.

Brat, Donotcall registration expires after a certain period, probably after 5 years and it does not stop all the telemarketing calls. You can call Donotcall.gov and inquire about these numbers as well.

These jerks also called my husband at work every hour yesterday and he had about enough and told Bruce that this is harassment and he is going to file a complaint with the Tennessee Department of Finance and the Attorney General and Bruce stated that it will take 48 hours for our number to be removed from the auto dialer and if we get anymore calls to ignore them and please do not file any complaints. Hubby asked for proof of the application and Bruce stated that they are not allowed to send out this information. What a crock!
