GARNISH WAGES IN NY?

HI ALL!

I got a call at my office that Lakota Cash is looking to talk to my boss regarding employment verification....if PDL'S are illegal in NY - how can they call my job about garnishments/verifications?...im freaking out a bit!

please advise.



Im registered with the forum - its under jelac but im on a computer at work and didnt want it to save my sign on info.



the letters were sent....but i paid much more than the principal of the loan with all the finance fees...i told them that...but they said i owe them the original amt and the finance fee.

I would just respond and restate what you have already told them. You are not negotiating, you are telling them the way it is. I would not be antagonistic about it, but definitely be firm. I am still working through it myself, and the responses I have received so far have varied.

Did you send this lender a ACH and wage assignment revocation letter? The sample ACH letter includes this paragraph "
At this time I am revoking authorization for ACH withdrawals and any wage assignment I may have signed. I have given a copy of these revocations to both my bank and my employer. Any future attempts to collect funds in this manner will be blocked."


I would give a copy of the letter/ emails you sent them or if you have not sent them yet send them today and give copies to you HR/ Payroll department.
