How long does a closed credit account stay on credit report? Is there any possibility that it would drop off early?

Usually, it stays on the credit report for 10 years. There is no law that says credit bureaus can remove the closed account from your credit report before that time period.

Often the credit repair agencies tell that they can help you remove the negative item before 10 years. However, in most cases, it's not possible. So, beware before paying money.
