So I assumed my AOL account was cancelled since my automatic payments were returned. They kept stating that my account was going to cancelled. Finally in December I had to call and cancel it even though payments were not made on the account. When I spoke to the rep I explained this to her and she said well you still owe like $76.

I contacted the BBB in Florida and explained the whole situation. Well on Friday I got a letter from AOL stating I knew this and it was in my contract, etc. However at the end of the letter they stated they cleared my balance and all collections would stop.

Yeah!!!!!! Be careful, just don't assume they cancel you even if they say they will.

Not sure if the contract is new or not. I had the account for about 4 years. I didn't request a copy of the contract or anything. But who knows with these companies. It was probably something electronic.

When I filed my complaint, there were several BBB complaints on the company. I also vaguely rememebr seeing some big case against them. Who knows.
