I was asked to repost this and let others see it thanks.

:? I just received a call from 913-825-1200 (caller ID) or 800-351-8820 (number he gave me) and was threatened and told that I embezzled money from his company and he needed to speak with my supervisor in order to take care of this debt. When I would not give him that information, he said that I had 1 hour to come up with 647.50 or there was going to be a serious problem. He told me that I needed to call my friends and family and borrow the money from them. I know that I owe the money to Geneva Roth Ventures, but I can not be getting these stressful calls at my work anymore.
So I have been reading on this site and know that these collection companies can not send me to jail no matter what they threaten. I would like to get a letter that I can fax them, so that they will not call me at work anymore. Any infomation on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I did not authorize any one to take money from my checking account, I have never even heard of you people before And I want my money back in my account,or I'm going to the better buisness borough. Scott Bair

Some companies (including Geneva-Roth). Have not a clue as to how their employees are speaking to people on the phone!! I am receiving numerous threats and ignorant messages from one of their female employees. I plan on contacting the attorney general office about this companies extreme unlawful collection and it is the lady bold and foolish recordings that I have!!

Hi Charlotte-The unfortunate fact is that the management at these companies do not care. They made illegal loans in the first place and seems like they are given orders to get the $$ back by saying anything they can. :( Keep logging those calls and if you have recordings by all means keep them!!

hey Roxy-Yea, I had to read that Scott posting a few times to make sure I wasnt losing it...I hope he finds his $$.

Charlotte - I had a nasty conversation with one as well. Nearly sent me over the edge. And it happened at work! Glad you got a recording of yours, good ammo.

I probably got the same lady, and I have a mental picture that I've created, a shriveled and snarling face as a result of severe unhappiness which she trys to sooth with insulting people over the phone. She kept implying I was a thief and a bad person, and kept asking "why did I get a loan I didn't plan to pay back." When I was telling her I did intend to pay her (I had gotten a settlement for just the principal balance owed). And then I told her I didn't want to talk about it at work and to not call there again. By the third time she asked me "Why?" I responded with "why do you operate illegally?" That sent her off and I hung up. It was awful.

PS Charlotte - if you haven't signed up yet, do so! If you forgot to log in then... we'll forgive you.

Hey everyone,
I use to stay on this site for a good amount of time while working out the payday loans I owe. Little by little I was able to get myself out of the payday loan situation I was in. However I have a problem with geneva roth that happen this morning. I have a new bank account and geneva roth did an unauthorized withdrawal out of my account. I havent spoke to noone at geneva roth and this is not the account I had when i got the loan from geneva roth. This is clearly fradulent and I need to figure out a plan of action to have geneva roth try not to avoid taking any more unauthorized transactions again. I have to go to my bank to fill out an affidavit so they wont try to do it again.

Wow, they some how found your new account. They are sneakier than I thought. I'll have to keep an eye out for them. Thanks for the heads up.

Good luck on getting them off your back. Have you gotten a PIF from them? I'm worried you are going to have to change your bank account again. Have you called the BBB, your AG and what not? You might have to bring them on your side to get them to stop. What state are you in?

I am trying to access my previous bank account and a prepaid debit card account I have with them. Im in PA and if I still owe them I have no problem working out payment arrangements. I even work out payment arrangements with GFSIL and that went well and you dont know what to expect overseas, but what Geneva is doing is unethical and fradulant. Im going to do my part not to have to switch bank accounts because I like the bank where Im at, but if needed I do it.

It is especially fraudulent because...
You will find the Payday loan laws for Pennsylvania here (just select your state),
http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/explain-pdls-laws.html
Legally you don't have to pay them a dime. Morally, we suggest paying back what you borrowed, since you did borrow it. I'm guessing that you've paid more than that. How much have you borrowed and how much have they taken from you?
I would definitely file complaints and raise a rukus. This is very very illegal since they weren't even supposed to loan you money in the first place. First try to figure out how they got the info. Did you take out any more loans or give your new account to anyone. They do trade info. And definitely get your bank to do as much as they can to keep them from taking any more money. File complaints with the BBB and the FTC and anyone.
Here is the website that I got the quoted info from, there are more links there to click on and file complaints. Do it now, they need to be stopped.

Roo, I have received these calls but not from Geneva. You can do a search in the box at the top right cornerof the page and read what others have encountered. I do it all the time. IS this the first contact you have received from them? I would not call them. Stick to doing everything in writing. I would also send them a dv letter so they know you mean business.

LOL Roxy no this is not the same as the phone call. I decided not to call them and wait and see if they email me again. I am sure they are going to be a pain to deal with and they already have enough of my money since I overpaid them. I have also done the search in the box abouve and that is how I found this thread. I will keep you posted if I hear anything else out of these fools!

I've gotten many an email from them like that. I still get them in fact, despite a settlement was made... I didn't tell them when I would pay them, but I did get them to settle for the principal minus what they'd already taken.

But I'm not giving them their money until I have the means to do so without breaking my bank. And with my current situation it is going to take even longer now!

PM me if you need any more help with Geneva Roth, I've dealt with them, or find my thread, my Geneva Roth "ad"ventures are woven in there....

Thanks poko! i will do that. Right now I think I am just gonna sit back and watch what happens. I totally understand the breaking the bank thing, as I am still trying to make last months mortgage payment. I am trying to get my stuff straightened out. If these people have to wait for a few months to get there amounts so be it. I don't feel a bit bad about not being able to pay them right now, because if they had not been operating illeagly I would not be in such bad of a mess as I am now.

Exactly. And that you don't owe them anything. I found the best way to deal with Geneva Roth was to send in someone higher up. I don't know what state you are in or who you'd have to contact, but I would do it. Either the AG or someone in the Banking/finance department. They will remind them they are operating illegally, and that you only owe the the principal and since you paid it already then you won't give them any more.

As for their emails and their calls, they are empty threats. Their collections department (Smith, Haynes and Watson) is in the same building just across from them, which means they are one and the same, and both illegal. They can't do a thing to you, other then make you crazy with emails and phone calls. I had the worst conversation of my life with one of them.

Keep sending them letters that you should be paid in full and bring in the back up, and hopefully they'll get the point that you aren't sending them jack.

Same exact email over and over again. Sometimes the name at the bottom changes, a different rep trying to contact me, but the email address is the same, from the 'president' of the company or some such.... If they are making so much money, why are they sending emails from just the one account?

All kind of bullshit. i hate Geneva-Roth Capital, they don't care about their clients, keep ripping off poor people. no excuse no extension. If a bank account insufficient fund call them up. they won't hold up a principal fee row to another payday period. they keep trying access to their customer checking account 3 times a week account even told geneva roth no moeny in account. bank charge $34 return fee plus geneva charge $30 return fee. how much we suffered for getting a 300 loans might end up lossing more than 1000 in two months and still remaing own $300 to them. what is F life happend to people this day. big mistake get a loan from them.

asdf - Wow you really do have some hatred.

But the best thing we can do to protect ourselves is file those complaints with your state AG and/or Fiance Dept, the BBB and the FTC. And then eventually there will be tougher laws in place and watch dogs taking out those operating outside of them.

And of course getting the word out to other people, letting them know not to get involved with these illegal companies. Anyone running an illegal company is not going to care of their clients since they obviously don't care for the laws.

I agree. I don't think that I could be that cold hearted in life even if I had a terrible life, or work for a company like that. One of these days they will get what they deserve in life and be one miserable person alone in the nursing home with no visitors, if someone doesn't hunt them down and shot them first! :D

Screw them they cant do anything to you. I dont mind the calls. they can call all they want. I like to say dumb things to them when they call. Sometimes my friends and I are drunk and we wait for a call to see who can piss them off the most. Anyway they cant touch you. So dont worry.

I too have fell victim to Geneva Roth. I am having the same problem with the 800# listed previously. The guy keeps calling me at work and is extremely rude and hateful. He always threatens me by saying that he is tape recording the conversations and he said that I would be charged for opening a fraudulent account with the intent of not to pay. I told him that I borrowed $300 and I know I owe the money but he is trying to make me pay $1025...what do I do?

Try (913) 825-1200. Ask to speak to Alicia Carmier. She was the only person that would help me. Everyone else was rude and were calling me a liar and a crook

This loan place is a total rip off i borrrowed 200 dollars the finance was 60. They were suppose to take it out on my pay day and did not. I have had no number to contact them and over three months every other week they take 60 dollars out of my account. this rip off needs to come to an end.

Is it legal for Geneva Roth to take money out of an account that wasn't the original account. I never applied for a loan from them but money was deposited in my previous bank account Now I applied for a loan thru what was supposed to be a secure site and money was taken out of this account.I have already had money illegally taken from my other account. I had #60 left from a paycheck of over #900. I don't think I owe them or anyone else anything.

just got off the phone with Smith Haynes and Watson they collect debts for Geneva Roth Payday Loans. I spoke with a Ms.Tucker who was actually very nice. I told her i dont have money to pay all the fees, but if they settle with me then i will pay in full. She allowed me to make 4 installment payments and pay with a prepaid debit card, that way they have no access to my accounts, and they will consider it paid in full. She was actually very nice.

Just some FYI!

I still will never take another loan with them again, but atleast i got someone who worked with me.

Another thing is to have your bank freeze your account from ach debits, and make it a credit only account, which will also help reduce fees, but not show your account as closed. :) It worked for me.
