Citicard is connected to the phone number -- 505-797-6333. They have been harassing my family too. We are on a "do not call" registry and whoever is calling should be fined. Citicard.

I get as many as three calls a day, starting at 9:00 AM until 8:30 in the evening. I don't answer, just view on caller ID. Quite annoying.

Please be advised there is a new trend - Caller ID Spoofing. Always call back to your known institutions/companies - in general, do not give personal information out over the phone (be cautious even if you know who you are talking to)

I get calls from 407-771-0887 as well, but it's because I've been late on my Chase card! Make sure your accounts are up to date.

I, too, have been getting calls. Sometimes they are from area codes 515, 504, 421, and 212,201. Not really sure who they are and how they got my #. When I try to call them back, the recording says that the number has been disconnected??

The 505-797-6333 & 6327 are collection calls for Citibank, so you must be past due on some payments...It's happened to me before....

I have been getting several calls a day too. It is a company that handles several credit card companies. Because the first time I called they said well you don't have a Walmart Discover card, I said NO. Then they looked further and it was a different credit card. Very annoying. Everyone needs to know that you can report them to the Federal Trade Commission for harassment. File a complaint maybe we can get all these calls cut down. Because I don't know about you but I HATE all these calls everyday. Whether I am behind or not they still to not have the right to harass you.

That is annoying. At times I stretch it between paychecks. I don't make nearly as much as I used too. But I go past my due date with Ford Credit. I rarely go past 30 days. Usually just 2 weeks. But they have the computer call me every day at least 3 times a day. Then I might get a message from a live person in addition to the 3 or 4 computer generated calls.

I have been receiving calls from 505-797-6333 and 904-954-1095 both claiming to be citibank. They are fraud. Do not pay over the phone or give them your social secerity numbers! You may even get statements in the mail. Before you pay take notice to the different states mentioned in them and the fact they are not 100% the same as your real statement. And since they dont seem to stop calling (this has been going on since Jan. for me) have some fun and start yelling at them and talk crazy, or something like that. Start making some of your own facts up, see wha they do!

I too, repeatedly get calls from the 505 and 904 area codes with the numbers as listed in another post. I haven't had a Citicard in years nor do I have a sears card. The name on the caller id says unknown so I do not answer but I have been told that these people are scammers and to never give them info of any kind.

This phone # belongs to Citibank/Citicorp like you I have been recieving several calls each day but they never leave a message. I answered the phone one day and they were looking for my daughter who had given them MY home phone # because she was changing cell phone carriers.. what a BIG mistake this proved to be..I offered them HER DIRECT # which they refused to take..and requested several times that they NOT call MY number..everyday they STILL call several times a day this has been going on for over 6 weeks now !!

Since I have informed them of this information and they continue to call I NO longer answer the calls but instead simply record the # the date and time that they call and then file a complaint for each call at the National DO NOT CALL site since I am registered with them and do NO business whatsoever with CITIBANK/CITICORP..let them pay the fines..maybe they'll learn !! These people are absoluetly relentless if you miss a payment on your credit card or a loan that you have with them.

other Citicorp/citibank phone numbers:
(904)954-1095
(816)420-1168

been gettin calls from a 505 number saying that they are citi cards. after doing some research and calling citi, it appears they're just a scam company trying to get your bank account. similar posts about 505 numbers also describe people being called and told they have "won two free tickets" and such. basically, don't give them any information.

U must call the number left in the message, the one on caller ID actually connects to a different division. The 816 420 number connects to citi card collections but the outbound caller office is Home Depot. We get hundreds of calls weekly from those who return the call to the caller id number, rather than the number left in the message (if there is one).

These people are bill collectors. They say it's Citicard, AT&T/Universal cards, but they've purchased old, bad debt. Their method is to use the phone book and call -- HARRASS -- anyone with the same name, as they search for the person who owes them. They say the "Do not call" doesn't apply because THEY SAY they have done business with you. They will harrass you to death. Call them back and tell them they have the wrong person.

As I understand it, this number is Citicards. I have never had a citicard, and started receiving these calls within a few hours of receiving a new phone number when I bought a new cell phone, so I suspect they're trying to reach whoever held the number previously.

What really bugs me though is that when I do answer I get a recorded message saying that it's Citicards, but they are too busy to talk to me then--can I call them at a given 1-800 number. And when I do call that number, I get another recorded message telling me to enter my citicard account number. When I'm unable to do this because I don't have one, the call terminates.

As I can't tell them to stop calling me by phone, I wrote to their customer service address and got signature confirmation, but still the calls continue. It seems there is no actual way to get through to them that they have the wrong number.

Thus, I've filed a harrassment complaint with the FTC. I have no idea whether the FTC will do anything, but I'm running out of ideas. If anyone's had any success in getting citicards to stop calling them, please post.

505-797-6333 calls me 4 times a day beginning
at 8:03 a.m. and ending about 9 p.m. This has
been going on for 3 weeks and I'm going crazy.
I don't answer numbers I'm not familiar with.
They never leave a message. Is there anything
I can do?

Whoever on this post says it is from Citicorp, they are lying. They work for the company that is calling you from those numbers. They are trying to get you to believe that it really is Citicorp. Don't be fooled.

"Do not Call" does not apply to collections calls. Only telemarketing.

Caller ID Spoofing, while it does happen , is actually illegal under federal laws. IF you have seen this happen, then you should persue it with your phone company and the local authorities.

For finding strange phone numbers, I have found two resources onthe net which have been extrememly helpful, 800notes.com and whocalled.us. Give them a try , I have had great success with both.

While the information you have found indicates this may be a scam, it should be noted that Citi does in fact have both a Collections Call Center and a Custormer Service Call Center located in Albuquerque, NM so there may indeed be legitimate calls coming on some number from Citi bank.

Now whether they are calling in a harassing manner or a professional manner is another debate all together. Just wanted to make a clarifying statement of fact.

It bothered me for a week already, I was afraid to call back to give my information to bad guys. My credit card customer service said they didn't try to call me, my cards are all fine. Finally I called back to this 505-797-6333 and gave them my billing address only. The lady told me one of my credit card is over limit. Now I see why the card didn't go through last time I shopped on line. I went to my online banking to check, and that card IS $40 over limited. OK, that's it. Please check your online account to fine out information if you don't want them to keep calling you. Thanks.

I got a call today from 505-797-6327 and my caller ID showed Albuquerque, NM. I called the number back using my cell number, dialing *67 first - and a recording comes on that says "Please input your account number now". Sounds a bit like a scam.

My case involves a credit card that was duplicated and swiped at various locations (including walmarts and gas stations) and overdrafted by a significant amount. I have been loyal to citicards since I started my credit history. I paid the full amount every statement. I just had a brawl over the phone for almost 2 hours with various departments of citi. Simply put, they were trying to make me pay for the fraudulent charges. My point being, why should I pay for something I didn't buy??

The fraud department has already been working with me since last week. They've been pretty good. Even today, they were professional regardless of my ever-growing skepticism.

Let's talk about the collecitons department.. Their phone number shows up as 505-797-6333 and they will leave a message telling you to call 800-388-2200.

I gave my 16 digit account #, social, password, phone number, and address in order to get by the security check. Their approach was so horrendous, I refused to comply after 5 minutes of conversation. I even heard people laughing and having a party in the background. The lady that was talking to me sounded like a 300 pound toad. She was only programmed to get my checking account number to pay for the huge amount over the limit which is obviously not my obligation. My (do not trust anyone) nature drove her to transfer the call over to the fraud department. That would have made me feel better since they already knew what was going on. However, the transfer went to another business that had no connection to CITI. okay then..??

I immediately called back 800-388-2200 thinking I was scammed. The same lady picked up. She's the last person I would ever want to talk to. If you heard her voice, you would slit your throat and kill yourself. She did the same thing again, pressuring me to make a payment to at least cover the minimum or the whole amount. She wanted my banking information. That's something I never give over the phone so I told her good luck. I heard more laughter and party noises in the background. How unprofessional. The toad told me that she's gonna get the supervisor to handle this matter. I said okay.

I waited 2 minutes and heard all kinds of background noises. I asked myself "which financial institution places me on hold while not actually placing me on hold?" Obviously, the lady did not put me on hold. So I got scared and hung my phone and googled 800-388-2200.

This is the first result I got:

***
800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-800-388-2200

This is a fake company calling to get your banking information as part of a scam. They will tell you that your bill is late and they need to take your payment information over the phone or you will be hit with late fees. They may have the last 4 digits of your credit card and your full name. Hang up and call the customer service number on the back of your issued card or statment and report it.
***

Now I got really scared. I called the number on the back of my card. After talking to 4 different people and 2 supervisors, I was transferred to the fraud department. They took care of everything. They told me it's not a scam but everything I described was in their history and it was the Recovery Department. Even now, I dont know if I should trust anything. Was the number I dialed from the back of my card somehow intercepted by a professional scamming group? Is 800-388-2200 a legitimate number? Is CITI a big scam? Can I ever trust anything over the phone?

Everything still remains a mystery. I will unlock everything by calling 800-388-2200 using different lines and hitting them with riddles like they've never gotten before. Not for vengeance, but to check on the validity. I don't trust that number.. I never will. They think they're too slick. The only slickness they got IS the lady who tried to get my banking information. Frankly, she's sounds like a huge toad. Toads are slippery. She must be a toad, inside and outside.

Conclusion: Once the fraudulent charges are resolved, I'm gonna switch credit card companies.

STAY AWAY FROM CITICARDS, CITIBANK, and CITIGROUP.

Nobody should ever have to go through my ordeal... :x

This number traces to a residence in New Mexico. It is NOT Citicard. They say you are past due even when your account is current. They ask for your account number (wouldn't they have that already if they're calling about your account?).Then they ask for debit card information to make a payment. BEWARE....I notified Citicard by the number on their statement, and they said they don't ask for debit card info over the phone. This is obviously a scam looking for banking and personal info.

If I don't recognize the caller, and especially if they don't leave a message or call my cell phone, then they don't get to speak with me.

Sometimes I'd like to meet the morons who actually believe that angering people is a good sales/marketing technique, just to see what such a person looks like.

It is always a good practice to not call any different numbers then what is on your card for that company. If they call and say they are from your credit card you should tell them you will call them back at the number on your card and speak to them then. I have found this is a good way to determine if the credit card company did call you indeed. If they did not call you regarding problems then you know that the call was a scam.
