Well, on Friday I officially defaulted on all of my payday loans. The debits did not go through because I changed my account information. Actually ONE did go through after I faxed, mailed and e-mailed the company a letter unauthorizing them to debit my account. Luckily for me, they responded to the request via e-mail and fax threatening to bring charges against me. So I took that information to the bank and filed penalty of perjury complaints against the company. Now I just have to wait for the bank to put my money back into the account. Anybody ever gone through this process? I need to know how long it will take for the bank to put the money back. I know that the other companies will continue to try to debit my old account, just praying no more debits sneak through.

I keep getting Phone calls at work from a loan threating me on my job. How can I stop this action.

I defaulted on my 3 payday loans 18 months ago. I stopped payments on all of the checks written to them. 6 months and 2 days later, after the time I had originally stopped payments on the checks, 1 payday loan deposited their check and got their money. My bank told me legally there was nothing they could do and a payday loan check was valid for 1 year, according to the laws in my state. After being told that, I went home and stopped payment on the other 2 checks again. I was even afraid they would try to redeposit after the 2nd 6 months...they did not. Then became concerned about what was on my credit, none of the other loans were on my credit. Good luck!!!

Moneytree - Legal and licensed in WA anyway.
PaydayOne - Legal and licensed in WA anyway.
Cash Central - Legal and licensed in WA anyway.

MyCashNow - NOT LEGAL and NOT LICENSED in WA; and most likely illegal in ANY state--they are based out of Panama! (aka Payday Max and Credit Protection Depot)

Sonic Cash and ThinkCash - I know nothing of these companies.

so t&c is a debt consolidation company, besides my pdl i have other debts, i use to use a debt consolidation company bu they were charging me a fee to get started and also a monthly fee, so i cancelled all transactions. i decided to tackle these credit card companies myself. i did succeed better that than the professionals. my payments are only 10-24 dollars a month with no interest rates, i was so happy, i told them that i was having financial difficulties and if it was possible to go on a hardship program. you can set up automatic payment if you have bad menory when it comes to payments or send in your payment. just ask them if they have hardship programs, i just wish that pdls had hardship programs.

Someone has been calling my job concerning a payday loan. He has threatened to call my boss and to have the police come to my job. Truth be told, I don't recall getting this loan. This is the 2nd one in as many as three weeks. I paid off the first one out of fear and ignorance, but I am leery of this one. When you call the number left to call, it is almost impossible to get thru. The guy that calls me is hostile and mean and can barely speak English. Also, he won't give me much information concerning the loan. What should I do?

I have like 5 or 6 that I recently defaulted on. they are calling my cell, my work, my home and emailing me as well. I live in maine and these are all online. They say this is like writing a bad check and that I can go to jail for this.. is that true? I just couldn't handle it anymore, it was taking my whole paycheck and then I was taking out more to cover my bills and it was a crazy cycle.

I am behind like 2 months are there any consolidators that deal with defaulted pdloans which will allow me to make very small payments until my husband gets back on his feet. please give me advice, will they have me arrested for being so behind?

I live in Texas and have 7 payday loans I am trying to resolve the defaults - phone calls haven't started yet, but I probably have a couple of days. I have changed to an new bank account at a new bank for my payroll deposits, but I have left the other account open, should I close? Is this a criminal offense or civil in Texas, does anyone know?

Once the letter or email is sent telling them they cannot contact you at work, will they usually honor that? I work for a large company and it will be awful if they contact me here at work. If I don't answer, the call can roll over to anyone else in my department.

I have about 6 storefront pdl's. I have defaulted on half of them. I am still paying the other half. One sent the check thru and I need to contact them about paying the bounced check. Another one is threatening me with a felony. I took it out hoping to keep from defaulting on another one. Then couldn't make the first payment. I called and asked about a repayment plan and was told they don't do that.

Please start a new thread with the following information and we might be able to help you:
-Names of each pdl company.
-Whether they are store front or Internet.
-How much you borrowed.
-How much you paid so far.
-The state in which you reside.

I just went into default with my payday loans. I am in CA. I have closed my bank account and my bank worked well with me. I am trying to make arrangements with them, but I am not able to pay what they want me to pay. Is it better to just pay what I can every two weeks or let it go until I can pay in full? Also,I have one company that refused to take my payment because I would not write a new check out with the new amount owed. They put me down as a refusal to pay...is that legal? How long will it take them to start adding fees to my collections?
