Has anyone had a loan with Paydayok? I borrowed $500 from them and paid $53.00 bi-weekly for over a year. I am in default? Has anyone been sued by them and are they legal?

I have a loan with PDOK, RIO also drags out the payment schedule and the fees end up huge. I am in MO and they have to add 5 % of the balance after a certain amount of refis.

I am finding a lot of good info on PDLs in this forum. If a PDL is not licensed in the state you live in, does that mean they cannot take legal action against you (such as judgement to garnish your wages)? I feel like I have paid all these loans two or three times over and do not feel like I need to pay them anything else.

One of the things I've noticed with the online PDLs is that you're not even really sure who you are dealing with. If you go to their web-site you should have a user name and password. Once you log in you should have access to all of your info and theirs. Some places on the web are loan locators (as I like to call them) it can take some time to figure out who actually holds your loan. One way is to check your history on your bank statement. (they have to let the bank know exactly who is taking your money no matter what state you're in or they're in.) The bad news is everyday I have at least 25 new junk mail from PDLs offering me help and releif. What a cost!!!!! One was so nice they offered me an 889 percent interest rate. Needless to say I turned that one down. Hopefully one day there will be a good way for good people to get help without being loan sharked..

I currently have a loan with pay day ok. They have parent companies called paydayone.com and paydayselect.com. They are out of Ruidoso, NM.

I called to extend the due date once and they were actually pretty good, but I wanted to mail in payments and they said no that they can and will continue to debit the account the money was deposited into even if I remove my name from the account.

Absolutely not, maria.
I am working with them myself and they WILL accept western union or money order.
Go to the bank and freeze ALL withdrawals, then call them back and tell them what you did. Don't tell them a reason, just tell them you will send those payments via money order...and get it all in writing.
They will respond to your emails, so make them email you the payment arrangements.

I have been working with both paydayok and paydayone..Paydayone can be a little bit tricky, they decided they didn't like the monthly payments I sent them and sent a wage assignment to my employer.Haven't heard anything else since I sent the revocation letter; I'm really not worried. Paydayok is businesslike and their customer service is decent. I do not go through a consolidation company, I've done very well on my own, and paydayok had no problem with me sending money orders and even offered me a deal. However, since I have paid the principle approximately 3.5 times over I believe I will very shortly be finished with them.

What's a revocation letter? Don't they have to get a small claims court judgement which you default on first before they can attach your wages? I am in so deep that I have no choice but to close my checking account this Friday. I already opened a new one and was told they cannot go into that account because they will not know the number unless I give it to them which I will not. I plan to pay off my husband's first and then pay the ones in my name which are out with PaydayOK, PaydayOne and PaydaySelect. Has anyone dealt with these other companies? They just need to wait a little or take smaller payments until the ones in his name are paid then I can take care of the ones in my name..........??????

Tmaria,

The process of wage assignment used by these payday lenders often fails to meet the legal standard. The term ???Wage Assignment??? should be written on the top of the paper, and digital signature is not valid here. Have you signed any such paper? I think No.

However, they will try to contact your employer to withhold a part of your wage. You have to send them a letter canceling the authority to hold back your wage. Also send copy of this letter to your employer. Make it certified.
