Has anyone ever heard of Route 66 Funding? They have never sent me any paperwork, I can't find them on the internet, and the emails they've sent me have no address information whatsoever. They're calling my office 3 or 4 times a day and it's always a guy who barely speaks English on the phone who just says I owe them money. I have to ask 2 or 3 times what company he is with before he tells me, and then when I ask for the address he hangs up. Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

The name on my bank statement shows up as Route 66 Funding, but I can't find them anywhere on the internet, including an application page like the one I filled out, and they never sent me any paperwork or anything. The last time they called my office phone (for about the fourth time today) I told the guy to call T&C and discuss payment with them, and he mumbled something like "No no, we no can do, you must pay us! Now!" and then hung up again.

If they can't be located in America, and the reps are not fluent in English, then they are located outside of the country. Apparently working an "American" job at an "American" company without paying American taxes. You don't have to deal with third party collectors anyways! Just take it up with the original creditor.

That's a good point. Unfortunately, I think they are the original creditor, not a collection company (as far as I know), because that was the name on the email they sent me, and that was the name on the debit from my bank account. So that's why I'm concerned and trying to find out their address or something.

This company taps into the websites containing information of people who are looking for short term loans. I have also gotten several calls from these people because I applied for a loan online. They do not speak English well and thanks to privacy manager they cannot get through to me. They have gotten me at work and I have told them I am not interested in taking out a loan with them. They are persistent. I hope this helps. I do not believe they are reputable and would steer clear of them.

I had to borrow money from them to get everything ready for a refinance of my home which supposedly would pay all my creditors and the pay advance people as well. But it fell through and I declared bankruptcy. So, my attorney wants the actual physical address of these creditors. I call them, but they are tight-lipped about where they are. One said that they were in the UK. So, I can just give my attorney a fax number and hope that it is sufficient.

I had a loan from them. I then declared bankruptcy and had to list them as a creditor. For a long time they would not give me an actual physical address. Now, they say it is:

Route 66 Funding
46 State Street
Third Floor
Albany, NY 12207.

Site deleted as it had a marketing touch - Mike

I applied for a loan on cash in one hour.com, and they said that Cash Today Limited will contact me. Instead, Route 66 Funding contacted me. They were trying to charge me $80 for a $200 loan. They must be crazy.

Their website is Route66funding.com and their number is 1-877-564-7738.

Hopefully they will not make any debits to my account because I did not use their service. I found that I won't need a payday loan after all.

Lucy

Look out for some other sources if you are in urgent need of cash. But don't take a payday loan. These loans are the most expensive cash added with excessive interest rates and fees. We all repent taking payday loans in the past and now want to keep away from it. If you go by my advice, don't take a payday loan. Talk to your bank if they can offer you any help. In case, you don't reach to a solution, visit your local store lender. They are pretty easier to deal with rather than the internet loan companies.

I received a call today in regards to my loan at my work phone number. The gal wanted to know if I was going to repay the loan of $279.00 in full or pay the $79.00. I have already paid you $474.00 and not one cent has gone towards the original $200.00 that I received from you on March 23, 2006. I have really mis-understood the process of this loan, as no one knows how to speak English. I called back the customer service phone number, talked with a guy who told me to call back in 10-15 minutes. When I returned the call I heard a message to leave my info and I would get a call back. I did get a call, again, from someone who doesn't speak great english. I told her that I thought the loan was paid by now. She then turned my call over to the supervisor, who couldn't help me and told me to call the phone number that I already had. Again, someone who wasn't english. I called back to the phone number for customer service and left another message. I did not hear back from anyone. As far as I am concerned, the loan is PAID IN FULL plus. This is nothing but a rip-off. If you want things explained correctly and that the person on your end just doesn't say yes to what you ask them, hire the correct people. As I said, when I asked about the loan I was told the $79.00 payment taken out of my account would go for the payment of the loan. Since all I got was the run around today with no one helping me, this email was sent to you. If you still insist on a payment, all I can say is that the $474 already paid in will be returned to me at once. If this does not rectify this, I will be speaking to my attorney.

Well I had applied for a loan through Route 66 Funding also. From what i had been told by the guy on the phone was that the $79 was the finance charge only and not part of the principal amount. The thing that i had found really odd about these people was their website. No information at all and almost no links to anything. the links that were there led to almost totally blank pages. Kinda sad really. I got the guy to tell me that they were in UK but not where exactly. I called back today and go tthe world famous runaround for a few minuted before getting a youg lady on the phone. She told all aobut my loan and how much it was going to "help" me. When i asked her about mailing address and fax#'s she got really evasive before finally saying that they just work over the internet and any ?'s should be directed to the phone number that I had just called(1-877-564-7738). After talking for a few more minutes i told her to cancel my loan and at this point she got really upset with me and started demanding that i tell her why i was cancelling my loan. When i told her that it was because of too many vague details she got even madder and when i asked for a supervisor she told me that there wasn't one there. At this point i again stated that i wanted her to cancel my loan she said"Fine, we'll do tha...." and would you believe we were suddenly disconnected. so i called my bank and told them to please notify me if any deposits are set to be pending on my account. I explained to them what had happened and they were happy to help me. sorry for rambling kinda tired from working. :)

Has anyone had a hard time getting them to help pay your loan off by payments. Will they turn you over to the DA if you do not pay on a timely manner. If you file bankruptcy will it stop the collections.

ID eveytime it talked to them i needed to call a 1-877 # The only #'s that i have for them are 1-877-564-7738 & 1-877-564 7737. Just about everytime that i called it took approx. 15 minutes to get someone on the phone. The only snail mail address i found was thought to be an unusable one. it was posted in the forums though.

This company uses a computer company in India. They call me all the time. When they stop take jobs from Americans, I'll think about using their company. A a lot of collection companies use India to collect debts. I had an overdue bill on a Visa card and these guys called me a least 10 times a day. Even when I paid the bill off, I received calls for a week. Yeah! These jerks have very poor English skills and do not understand a lot of what you say to them. They read off a script. I like playing with them, like, I bet you wish you lived in the US and were making better then a $1 an hour. They never answer.

I just called the to FINALLY pay off my loan. I'd been trying for four weeks. What's weird is 2 weeks ago they said I owed $400, now they're saying I owe $279. Isn't that weird? Why would they do that?

I just got a call from these people yesterday. the same thing, I had applied for a loan with a different company that seemed legitimate. They called me from a number that came up unknown. They are in the process of verifying things now, they claim they are from the UK. I am thinking I should call it off completely, because something is a tad shady about it.
