Hey guys,

I got throughmy marketing research class with all straight A's, throughout the semester we had to make up our own marketing research project. Mine was based on something that's been on my mind for quite some time.

I cancelled my subscriptions to Cosmo, Marie Claire, Mademoiselle, and Glamour two years ago because it was so full of repetitive and contridictory fluff. By that I mean every month would have articles on accepting yourself as is, and articles on tummy tucks, lipo, and **** jobs. It also had articles about enjoying your independence, and articles about what men want and how to please men. And they weren't talking about real men, but dink-shaking, armpit scratching apes. There were also articles about respecting yourself, and completely contradictory acticles about how to "properly" screw around. Overall, full of fluff and tacky fashion hints.

I also wondered if any of those guy magazines like Maxim and Stuff had any information about what women want, and how to please them. Guess what i found instead....more dink-shaking, armpit scartching waffle.

So I thought that the intellectual and socially independent women out there such as myself, and mnay of you here in the forum, could really use some quality monthly reading material. So, for Marketing Research, I came up with "Synergy", a magazine buy and for intellectually independent women, not trend chasers reading Glamour.

"Synergy" is full of articles about psychology, career enrichment, philosophy, health, and other information vital for intellectual and spiritual enrichment. My project got rave reviews from my professor, my research was 100% accurate, and now I'm seriously considering being my own boss and making "Synergy" a reality.

I haven't brought it up with my husband yet. My parents know that I have a knack for writing, and a way with words. My dad know how silly I think Glamour and Cosmo are. If I ever can make this a reality, It's going to start online, perhaps I'll open it up in my blog as an online magazine, I know I have a lot of ducks to get in a row if I want to publish and circulate it.

Ari,

That is a great idea, and something that is badly needed in the marketplace. Not everyone is so unsure of themselves that they need to know what a celebrity is wearing or buying to know what to wear that day.

This topic is a major soapbox for me. I'll stop with that for now.

Ari---I don't know how old you are, but in the 90's there was a tv show called "thirtysomething". Anyway one of the characters worked at a very up and coming magazine (on the show) called "Synergy. anyway, you seem to be have a real talent for writing and knowing what real women want from a magazine. I look forward to reading your work.

Wow Ari,what a great idea :D Count me in,I'm sick also of the fluff. i quit buying all those too for the same reason. I give talks, and when I do,it's all about accepting yourself, and finding what it is in you that tells you you aren't ok,or that you will settle for any man-whether they are good for you or not. Gosh, get me off my soapbox  Best of luck and let me know if you need any help...Karen

Lorri, You're in if you want, and have ideas, the more, the merrier.

Karen, You're in too!

Everybody! I got the green light from Vikas to get this started as a blog! What I'll need from all of you who want to be a part of this, send all you contributions to my pm, and I will edit them and post them to the blog under your names of course! Then we'll see what happens! If this is well enough recieved, we can put it on it's own website, and later on possibly publish it!

Excellent! The topics I have in mind are career enrichment, philosophy, psychology, health, the arts, and more. If you have any other subjects that you think would be a good addition, by all means share your ideas with me!

When you have finished your writing, drop it in my pm so I can edit it and put in the magazine.

Pick something that interests you that you know a lot about! If you like gardening, you could write about horticulture, or if you like gourmet cooking or art, those topics are always welcome!

With all thse people jumping on, this magazine will take off like a bat out of hell!

Just in case any of you were wondering, if this magazine does generate a profit, yes I will split the proceeds evenly with all of you.

Hi Ari and everyone here

I was reading about your latest expedition and desire to start an online magazine. I truly believe that your magazine will rock because of the innovative and unique ideas on which you are focusing.

I also realized that there are some members here in our community with additional talents within them. And, they are showing their participation on different columns you will provide.

Feel free to publish the magazine as a part of http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/ to begin with. We will promote your magazine in our website and give it a public appearance. I am sure the noble work of the community will be highly rewarded.

Regards
Vikas
