not suprised
she may call down the road, but maybe the fact that you weren't scared into just paying up made her move on.keep us posted if she does call again.we can advise further from there.
well
when the bitch calls back tell her you are filing AG,and FTC complaints against her bottomfeeder collector.pdl's are prohibited in maryland, and per the FDCPA they must send a basic collection letter 5 days after initial contact.so basically this is a bottomfeeder collector, and the bitch broke the law hand over fist with the pre litigation threat.file the complaints, and ignore her,and anybody else from this bottomfeeder.you can file the FTC complaint at www.ftc.gov that and know again a complete bottomfeeder that needs illegal threats, and scare tactics as they have nothing else.
amazingly she didn't call
amazingly she didn't call back today....hmmmm surprised? Did alot more research last night, they are a collection company not a lawyer or anything of the sort, not licensed in MD, and the first person I talked to told me this was from 2011...MD debt SOL is 3 years. So, without a debt verification including the original creditor, license information of their company, proof that SOL isn't expired and proof of payments made by me.....she gets nothing. I had a feeling it was a scam but these things worry me. now to put another fraud watch on my credit...
Fellow Marylander
This happens all the time. I too am from Maryland and have been in your shoes. Don't fall for their scare tactics and like Paul says report them.
Now its a different company
Now its a different company calling claiming the same dates but different company name. Wouldn't give me company contact info or original creditor info. Claims to be a litigation company. Looked up the name she gave me and doesn't look so good
