I received a call today from Oracle Financial Group claiming I took a loan out for $400 to Kenwood services. I have never heard of them and looked them up online and it looks like one of those payday loan sites that sends out your application and gets you with a lender. I did have payday loans and went through PDLDA years ago. This is from 2011 they said. I told them I have never dealt with this company and they need to provide me with verification from the original creditor with amount borrowed and amounts paid. they couldn't provide it and I requested it be sent. I told the supervisor to call me tomorrow at 10:30 because I needed to figure this out. She is saying they are going to add $3200 for attorney and legal fees friday and that this is in pre litigation. okay. I don't believe her but it still freaks me out just the same. I am in Maryland So I am not sure what they can or cant do. I see online that they are a collection agency which she told me they are in litigation and so she is lying.

Some creditors and collection agencies refuse to lower the payoff amount, interest rate, and fees owed by the consumer.
Creditors/collection agencies can make collection calls and file lawsuits against the consumers represented by the debt relief companies.
Debt relief services may have a negative impact on the consumer's creditworthiness and his overall debt amount may increase due to the accumulation of extra fees.
The amount which the consumer saves with the use of debt relief services can be regarded as taxable income.
