Does anyone have any experience with this company?

I have heard good feedbacks on Superior debt relief. You will like to check out this thread and know others who have taken their settlement program.

I am a client of superior debt management services at 1-866-896-7616. They are a debt elimination company for unsecured debt. They wrote off my credit card debt and promised to restore my credit rating. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM unless you have nothing to lose. I have been sued, been ruled against in court, and had my bank accounts attached and cleaned out totally. My credit went from a 760 to a 480 and I am now stuck in the program with no way out. They settled one credit card for 50% of the debt with no interest. I am now being sued by another credit card company and I have two more in the program with no money to settle with them. I am making monthly payments to superior, they take out their fees and bank what is left to settle debt with. I have two more years of payments to make before I am done with the program and they can start to restore my credit.

I've been checking around and it seems that my best option is to declare bankruptcy. I am already in a credit counseling program and when I was talking with a home equity loan officer, he told me that most banks look at credit counseling the same as bankruptcy. So I figured I don't have a whole lot to lose.

Mattyk151,

How long have you been in a credit counseling program? I went into a program 10 years ago after getting married and having a child...the debt was outrageous. But after I paid everything off and was free and clear from debt and my credit rating went up dramatically. debt consolidation in a counseling program is not the same as bankruptcy. When you are finished paying off your debt it will be noted on your credit report...bankruptcy stays with you as a negative mark for 10 years. If you can avoid it--do.

When opting for a settlement program or a consolidation program, it is important to be regular with the monthly payments. This money will be used to pay your creditors. In a consolidation program, if the creditors don't receive money from you or your consolidator after arrangements have been worked out, they will take actions against you. It may be because you have not kept your promise.

In case of a settlement program, the negotiations with the company are very important. There must be a written proof about it so that if the matter is taken to the court, you have proof about taking care of this matter. The judge will see that you or your settlement company have been trying regularly to make correspondences with the original company in the first place.

The company I was talking about was Superior debt relief which is also the same thing as Superior Debt Services.
2PinaColadas...... I don't care about my credit because I already own a home, have a great rate on my mortgage and I don't want to ever have a credit card again and I plan on paying cash for vehicles from now on. I have been in credit counseling for 1 year now and I cannot continue to make the payments. Our student loans will be coming off of forbearance in the fall and we don't have enough money to make it now. So as I see it, bankruptcy is our best option.

I'll be frank...It appears now that with the change in the Bankruptcy laws and the fact that these creditors have raised minimum payments from 2% to 4% and people cannot afford this...the credit card companies are getting a lot tougher in suing and going after what is theirs...

I feel the debt settlement companies are having a hard time now trying to get these creditors to accept terms of settlement.

I'm hearing the same old story I'm going through with Lawgistix now. They are not keeping up their end of the deal because these creditors will not work with them. I'm STILL waiting for Lawgistix to get back to me after many phone calls and emails. It's UNCALLED for!

If I were you, and I know your looking for alternatives, I would get legal advice in your city or town.

Terry

ditto.

Nobody is apparently dealing with the settlement companies anymore - why should they? the bankruptcy laws screwed anyone legitimately unable to pay their bills.

i've already found a lawyer to aid me with my three credit card companies, since my debt settlement company can't do a thing for me.

Just so you know they cant restore your credit, they can only have the companys that have sued or sent you to collections reflect a "paid as settled" or "Paid in full" status on your credit report once they have been paid, it is up to you to restore your credit score.
