I have a loan with ameriloan. I am going to have to stop payment on it today. The debits to my account clear in two seperate debits, one for the finance charge and one for the principle. My question is do I need to stop payment on both amounts? I'm afraid If I do they will group them together or something when they hit my account the next time and it will go through. Closing my account is not an option. Are they known to hit your account multiple times? Also how ruthless are their collectors? Will they get me in trouble at work calling non stop? If anybody has experience with them I would greatly appreciate your help. Thanks!

Multiple or unauthorized debits done in the consumers' account is not legal. The loan company must make the debits at the specified date and with the fixed amount. It is unfair business practice to use different amounts for taking out money. You should be cautious and monitor your account before this happens. Talk to your bank and make them aware before this incidence happens. The bank can block the transaction code of the company so that no one can make debits from your accounts even after using different amounts.

Read these threads and get familiar about the business practices of ameriloan.

Justme, you are so correct. I just read that myself! It is not legal. I had ameriloan, I defaulted of course after I blocked them from my account. They were not bad to work with. Especially after I sent them a cease and desist of all phone calls. I am now asking or should I say waiting on a refund of overpaid interest

You know, I have never been able to get refunds from any of the PDL's! Even some I have paid HUNDREDS of dollars over amount borrowed+fee. Linne, how were you able to get refunds??

I got letters from 7 PDL's that they marked me PAID IN FULL back in early May. Is it too late to ask for a refund, or am I just opening up a new can of worms (or should I say snakes) by trying to contact them again regarding refunds?

Should I just accept that they agreed to mark me PAID?

Traci, I also never got a refund. I asked for one from quikpayday but they denied it. I also knew I had way overpaid them and others but I am happy they marked me PAID IN FULL when they did. It's your decision, I know at one time there were several people on here saying they got refunds but others of us that didn't get any. Good luck if you decide to pursue it.

It is just so weird...I wonder how they decide who they are going to give refunds to. I recd refunds from all but 2. I have 1 that I want to pursue, BUT I AGREE w/ Jessi...I say, don't rock the boat. I am thinking that these forums might have something to do w/ giving refunds now. They know everyone is on to them...Just a thought.

I had a loan with ameriloan along with several others and I had to close my account so I could get them paid off. They never contacted me or sent me emails after I closed it. I called them for their address so I can set them up with my Credit counselor and they didn't reject my proposal. For me they were pretty easy to work with.
