I searched the forum for a thread on Greenpath but couldn't find one, I hope this isn't a dupe.

After spending the last three weeks researching debt consolidation programs, I made an appointment with Green path for next Thursday. They seem very credible, but after reading so many stories of people getting ripped off by these kind of companies I am apprehensive.

Has anyone here used Greenpath for debt consolidation, and if so, how was your experience with them?

I would really appreciate any info that anyone can give me. Thank you.

Read the feedbacks in this page below. Those living in Michigan found Greenpath to have satisfactory performance.

Get your contract in writing and read the terms and conditions carefully. Clear up all your queries with the consultant before signing up. Best of luck!

You can look for other companies in the ranking chart and know about their performance. It will be helpful before dealing with a new company.

I signed on with greenpath at the end of April. I don't have any complaints, the people are very nice and I have a office close by, so I'm able to drop my payments off in person. I had talked to a lawyer in my area about my financial situation and I asked him about this company and he said they were good to work with. Hes been doing collection cases for over 30 years, so i felt he probably knew what he was talking about.

Thanks for the feedback. I was leaning towards debt settlement, but it seems far too risky a proposition and doesn't protect you from possible lawsuits and collection calls. The fees are also high, and you may end up paying taxes on the forgiven debt. All in all, I am much more comfortable with the concept of debt consolidation.

Glad to hear the positive feedback on Greenpath!

Update: I would not reccommend this company. They are very professional and have been in business for a very long time, but the savings they offer in monthly payments are almost inconsequential, and you will end up having paid about 25 to 30% above and beyond the total of your current debt by the time you finish the program.

This company exists to serve the creditors best interests, not yours.
