Next time you get a call from this Russ Crenshaw tell him your calls are being recorded and ask him for debt verification. Tell him you need to know their fax number and the address to his company. Tell him you know your rights and that you can't be arrested and that it is illegal for him to threaten you with that. I also defaulted on a loan with arrowhead investments and I better not get a harrassing collection call because I'm ready for them. I already had to deal with these idots and they are not going to scare me anymore.
Did you call Arrowhead and ask who your account was sent to. Did they not want to set up any payment arrangements with you.

You will not get arrested. These people will say anything...How could you get arrested for check fraud when you never even wrote a check?

Russell Crenshaw called me as well not too long ago. He didn't identify himself as a "director," however. Do a search on the forums for his name and for United Federal Bank- I did after he called my office phone, and there are several people that have been dealing with both him and his slimy company.

The funny thing is I called them this morning trying to work out payment arrangements to pay them off. I was given a # to call, but no one can find the file. Plus the bank account is frozen not close.

bdouble, do not agree on the phone to send them any money. Ask them which pdl they are collecting for (maybe arrowhead will work directly with you on a payment plan, although they have a pretty crappy reputation too). Then tell Mr. Crenshaw that you will not send any money until you receive a letter of debt validation. It seems pretty shady that they couldn't "find" your file, and Russ Crenshaw doesn't have a good track record with anyone in this forum who's dealth with him as it is.

Okay, so now they have my file. They were quite amazed that no one had called me concerning this case. I am now in a Pre-Litigation status and need to send them $320 Money Gram to show the customer that I am willing to pay back the loan. After that they are willing to make further payment arrangements. What is so funny is my case file # and account # are the same.

You have the legal rights to ask for a debt validation from any collection agency. If they say that they are not required to send anything, they are lying. They are bound to follow the federal laws. The debt validation letter should clearly mention the debt for which they are collecting along with interest calculations and the principal amount. Refuse to pay anything until you have reviewed the account thoroughly and found to be correct. Here are some threads about this company. It is full of such craps by the company.

Okay, so I asked for a debt validation letter. She asked for my #, so that she could call me back. I explained that I would call her instead since I was not at my desk. The first time I called a man with a foreign accent answered, hung up called back same person answered this time without the accent.

Okay, when I asked for the debt validation letter, they claim that it was already sent. Should I wait to get the letter before making any arrangements to pay.

When dealing with jerks like these people, keep in mind that they play childish games. Per the fdcpa, they have to send you a letter 5 days after inital contact.

Lol, the same guy answered, just without the accent? Maybe you should tell him that if his true calling is theatre and drama, he should go sign up for drama classes at his local community college instead of role playing different collectors for some shady-thuggish collection agency. But yes, absolutely wait and see if they actually sent you a letter.
