I want to stop the payday loan companies from continuing to take money from my account. I would like to withdraw my authorization and make payment arrangments with them. I need to do this within the next week because they will take them out again. They are online companies. What type of letter can I write or do I call them - and what if they refuse? I have paid my loan over and over again by the fees. I need to know if they are allowed to practice in the state of Arizona - I am not too good at looking those things up. I also believe they are charging too much.

From what I've read the best thing to do would be to close that account, and contact the companies making a payment arrangement or possibly getting them consolidated along with your other debts by debt counseling.

As everyone says, go through this link for the sample letters on how to write to the loan companies. If you are sure of paying more than the legal charges, giving your letter the most legal importance and claim for a refund. Although, it might sound tough but you should definitely insist for the PIF in writing. This way, some CA does not hound you late for the remaining balance.

ouzog12, have you contacted the ACH dept. of your bank to stop the payments of these loan companies. The bank might charge a fee for it but you will prevent some money going to the disputed account. The loan company must put the statement of all your payments in the past and if they can prove any remaining balance, you will make payment arrangements with them.

Yes i did speak to my bank today and they told me to come in and they would freeze my account until such time that i can straighten these things out. I thought i woul do that, send a cease and desist letter and then a letter for settlement but i have certainly paid much more than the amount i received.

I agree with Paulisgirl..It's a heck of a lot cheaper to close your current account and open a new one. Remember, you will have to pay a stop payment fee for each ACH you stop..And that costs between $20-$30. Also, that's only temporary; a stop payment only lasts 6 weeks. Trust me, I've been there...6 weeks is not a long time where internet lenders are concerned. They DO lie in wait, and after the 6 weeks they can attempt to withdraw the entire amount you owe.

I went to my bank yesturday and spoke to the manager there. They put a freeze on my account till I decide to do something different. I am sure next week the phone calls will start. I just would like to head them off before they contact my work and everyone else. Anybody have any suggestions I understand that polly plog has some letters that I probably should try to send out right away!
