Route 66 Funding
46 State Street
3rd Floor
Albany NY 12207

These people were VERY reluctant to give me their mailing address. They called my bank and made me verify (while they were silently listening) that my account was closed. I told them if they wanted money, I had to send a MO.

I borrowed $200 from them and they want me to pay bank $500. No way. I'm sending 350. I wonder what they will do?

Hi wizard

When you send the money order, take the receiver id of the company from the post office. This will be an important proof of your money sent to Route 66 Funding.

Do you have the contract in writing from the company? You must review the terms and conditions before sending your payment. Besides, you can also ask them for an itemized statement of your loan account.

I rencently filed complaints with the FTC and my attorney general office as well as New Yorks AG. I've paid over $300.00 On a $200.00 loan and now they want $437.00 more. My entire transaction with them was done over the phone, they debit my account every payday even though I've told them all my accounts are closed and that I've signed up with a debt consolidation company. Has anyone else had similar experiences with them.

We have recently filed for bankruptcy, and our lawyer informed us to stop payment on this payday loan. I also needed a mailing address for this company. I called them and they refused to provide me with this, but would give me a fax number. Come to find out the fax number they provided was to the accounting department for my work! Thanks so much for getting this mailing address.

Wizard,

Was this loan done over the phone? I believe this might be an affiliate of ICS so be careful. I think this amount should satisfy the lender. Also, you may want to get copies of bank statements to see what finance charges they have taken out of your account. I would send it via certified mail with return receipt requested. This way you will have proof that they received the payment. I would not give them any new or additional banking information at this point. Kee us updated on your progress.

Recently my Mother fell victim to Route66 funding.
She borrowed $250 in March, as of June 2 had paid $782.
before she told me about this scam. For those of you who have fell victim to this as well as: #1 close your checking account and re-open a new one IMMEDIATELY!. #2 when
R66 calls and harasses and threatens to contact the Attorney General and report you for bank fraud; Tell them that you have contacted the AG and filed a complaint and not to call you again, if they wish to correspond they must do so in writing. If any contact continues have an attorney draw up a letter to cease contact. These people are operating in a gray area they created and are targeting folks that believe they have no re-course. Any and all that have had dealings with this company must contact their state attorney general as well as the U.S. Attorney Generals office. These people have broken many state and federal laws.
Remember none of you have done anything wrong, when you borrow money you are entitled to a contract in writing within 30 days if you do not have this with a payment structure to include interest rates any verbal or internet contract is not valid. The proof that they are no ligitimate and have no recourse is their refusal to provide a physical address for correspondence.

I just posted this in another link about this company too. On May 19th I sent a certified letter and requested a return reciept to this company and have yet to recieve anything back. I sent it to the address everyone else seems to have for them. I wonder if they have moved on, because of complaints.

these people are sharks. I have faxed, called, certified letter, etc to the point that they are calling all of the people at my work. Have been warned by my boss that they are to stop calling or I will be reprimanded. I just filed a Chapter 7....will this stop the cash withdrawls? I do not have the $ to continue the "fees" they keep stating I ahve with them. I have paid over 400.00 on a 250.00 loan.

this company is definitely sketchy. i put a stop payment on my account at my bank, and they are now calling and harassing me. i offered to pay them $259, which i had already paid the $59 and now they are trying to say that i owe them $318. they are calling and harassing me at work, and i just keep hanging up on them. they are threatening me with fraud, because i told them that the number that they have for my employer is wrong. i told them that it was changed so they wouldn't call it. they literally said on the phone "can i talk to your supervisor". i said no.... he asked again and i said no. he actually expected me to walk over to my boss and hand that person the phone so he could "tell on me". i wasn't having it. i told him that their company's lending practices are illegal in michigan, and that he could either accept my terms or they would get nothing. i told him that i knew that the company was in the UK and he couldn't really do anything from there.

he tried telling me that he was going to have his "legal team" in new york come and garnish my wages. i said you hop on a plane and come and get it. i'm not going to let this company push me around for $200. no way. i'm not afraid of these guys.

i wouldn't recommend my actions to anyone else, but from my personal experience, i'm either going to pay them back on my terms (reasonable) or they will get nothing and they'll have to fight me for it. i've got nothing to lose. i'm tired of predatory lending.

I have research a lot of on line payday loans and I can said I did not apply to them directly, but they call me. I turn the loan down because there was nothing in writing of their policy that I could read and could not find anything on line. Things that comes too easy is not always in your favor. I say no to the offer.

i got into a bind and took out a loan with route 66. I want to pay off the loan, but the website does not information about the status of my loan, and customer service will not return my phone calls. The original loan amount was $150.00 and I have paid $59.00 seven times. I feel so stupid. I have put a stop payment on the account. I got through to the number posted on this page, but they will not take my payment. They keep telling me to call 1-877-564-7738, and of course, I can only leave a message to that number. If anyone has any suggestions, please help me.

Hey I got the same email from this company thinking that I would get a payday loan with ease. I felt funny about the situation from the beginning and I asked the representatives lots of question and he sort of rushed through it. I have not recieved any money and I called the customer service number twice spoke with two different people and told them I wanted to cancel the loan before any money goes into my account. Does anyone think that I should go ahead and change my account number also...

Good news! I finally got through to them. I had to tell them that I closed my bank acccount in order to get a mailing address. Actually they wanted to get bank information from a family member before they would give me the address. The address is the same Albany, NY one that has already been provided. I am sending a certified US postal money order. I have to send it express because it must be there before the 14th.I also put a stop payment on my account. I will never take out another payday loan. I advise everyone to stay away from this company.

I too have fallen victim to this scandal. I was informed that the $59 extension fee was to be applied to the loan balance. Come to find out after four payments of $59 that none of this is true that, and quote, that isnt how we do business. Now after i have paid them $250 in fee's, i still owe them the original balance of $259.00. I sure hope there is a recourse for this because i intend to sue!

I too have fallen victim to this scandal but I haven't received the deposit yet. My bank suggested since there's no way they can stop the deposit that once I receive the funds, file a claim and have the funds sent back. If they try to deposit it again I will keep sending it back. Hopefully my bank doesn't charge too much to file a claim because I will do it until Route66 gets tired of sending it. Eventually I will close my account if it becomes a problem.

call your bank customer service and have them file a cliam against the deposit.this should have the money sent back to them and you should also ask your bank for the claim number and to send you a copy of the claim if they can.

877-564-7738 - my husband took out a loan from them last week. We called them at this number and told them we wanted to pay off in full this week - tomorrow. We got an email from them reminding us of this arrangement and since we were so short on cash, took them up on the offer of just paying the fee this week. Now, I guess we'll see whay happens next week.....

This company is absolutely unbelievable - I took out $200 loan, paid the $59 "extension" fees for two+ months - amounting to $581.00 - the deal with these people is that the $59 fee is automatically renewed and deducted each week - leaving you owing $259 should you decide to pay it off - the problem is, you need to call them 3 days in advance - in other words, by Tuesday the week you decide to pay it off - and it's not for hte principal - you pay the $200 loan ++++the $59 "fee" - still haven't found out exactly what that is really for yet....anyways - I lucked out - after being told that they would NOT ACCEPT my payoff of the $200 balance on my account, I informed them that I therefore REVOKED their authorization to withdraw ANYTHING from my account and promptly put a block on their company ID with my bank while I did some research. Fortunately Nevada has exceptionally good consumer protection from these sharks - for one, they must be licensed, must provide written copy of contract with terms - THIS COMPANY WILL NEVER SEND YOU A COPY OF ANY DOCUMENTS PERTAINING TO YOUR LOAN - EVER - and they are NOT allowed to put in a clause that states you agree that they can garnish your wages, THAT IS ILLEGAL FEDERALLY AS WELL! I got in a bad place and needed this money to hold me for a week - the problem is, that they kept taking the $59 fee every week, leaving me with not enough to take care of my bills, etc, and wouldn't let me make any kind of partial or alternate payment to get my balance down - it was all or nothing - and all wasn't an option - or my kids go without food. I see all of the posts saying to stay away from payday loans - that's fine and good to say when you don't need them and aren't in the place we've all been in - well, ultimately the NV NRS states that if any contract is made that includes the assignment of wages, etc, or isn't provided in writing, etc, that the CONTRACT IS VOID AND THE COMPANY IS NOT ENTITLED TO THE PRINCIPLE, INTEREST, OR ANY FEES COLLECTED. I faxed them the copies of all of that info -along with my cease and desist on phone calls - which they're now up to 7 today - all from different numbers, no messages left, etc. NEVER AGAIN!

What do I need to do? I've called their 1800 # like I was instructed over the phone when I received my $200 loan (you have to leave name and social on answering machine). I want to pay this in full before they stick it to me. Should I close my account now or wait and see if they actually follow my instructions and debit the full amount due? What have I done.....

First I know I got myself into this mess and with several different lenders. The biggest problem I have is with Route 66 Funding they called me and i sent up a first payment towards settling the debt and they told me to call them if there would be a problem and when I called them I got a woman that I couldnt understand so I finally hung up and tried to call back. For the next 2 1/2 days I couldnt get an answer. When they went to debit my checking account they did it in 4 transactions. I put a stop payment on them which cost me $80. They then called me at work which I had told them not to do on one other time. They said ok then called me at work again the next day at the same time. I told them not to call again. That night when they called I told them TO NOT CALL ME AT WORK and I got the address that was posted here. I dont know how quickly I can get any money to the different poeple as the overlimit fees and stop payment fees from the bank have put me in a huge hole where I couldnt pay other bills. Any ideas or advice? I have sold almost everything that I have to gain extra money....

Yes! I got a loan from them and not knowing that I have to pay $79.00 out of every pay check? When I finally spoke to a person they spoke so fast I could not understand them? I did not sign anything and I stoped them also from taking funds out of my account. These people thrive on people's hardships and do not care about trying to make reasonable payments to pay them back?

I had recently applied for a payday loan and they told me that a lender will send me an email and call the number that I left on the application. When I got the email of who would lend me the money, I researched it. Thanks to this I was able to see that they weren't a good company to go with. The gentleman called and I said that I had changed my mind and didn't want the loan. He kept rambling on and on about all these specials of no interests and fees. After telling the man to shut up, he informed me that I had to call another number. I called the other number and told them that I didn't want the loan. They called me three more times that night and I told them that I was going to turn them in for harrassment. Thanks for posting comments or I would have been a sucker!!!

I finally put a stop payment against this company. The bank advised me that they put in a code that would keep them from debiting any more money from my account..You may want to check with your bank about this procedure..This was done on monday and so far I haven't heard anything from the company...I am just waiting for them to call..I am printing all of these messages on this sight and keeping them to send to the Ohio Attorney General..I think if everyone works together we may be able to put these people out of business..

these people are a scam. i finally closed my account with my bank and reopened another account. i am also filing bankruptcy and these people keep calling me threating check fraud. i have emailed them with my attorney's name address and phone number but get no response. i had a phone number for the where they kept calling me but it has been disconnected. my lawyer cannot even find a address or number for them. please be careful using this pay day loan place. my advice to everyone is dont allow any of these places to take money out of your account. they all charge outrageous amounts every week. i almost got myself in trouble with these places but i included them on my bankruptcy. i will never use any of these internet places again.

I must have been lucky because 2 months ago I took out a total of 3 loans, and although the fees were unreal I had no choice. I was fortunate to get through on the 3 day limit and pay all the loans off. They even called me on one instance when I forgot to call and reminded me to pay off the balance. Are all of yall only having problems when the payments are past due or from the start?
