HSBC (household bank) is one of my accounts that is with T&C. T&C has sent them a proposal, they denied it,etc. Anyway they have come to a monthly payment agreement---but my question is this "How long will HSBC continue to call me about my account?"

Its like they have the information and they still ask if I can't make a small payment. I said no, as that would be defeating my purpose. Do you think they will continue to keep this up? I am getting tired of them calling or is this just part of collections procedures?

Maybe these people can help.

I have HSBC too - and with T&C. They didn';t get payment on time and they dropped me calle me and I told them I was with debt management. I called T&C and they got HSBC to get me nback on the program. The payments are due on the 18th and HSBC received payment on the 21. So I asked T&C to make sure they pay HSBC on the first of the month. I pay T&C bi-weekly. They are jerks- some of them are ok to deal with - some are not especially the men.

Well I found out why HSBC is calling me incessantly. They said they will not accept a proposal from T&C until I am current with them. They confused me so much that I agreed to pay them $50 by the end of this month. I feel like they are playing games here but they intimidate me so easily that I can't think straight. Does this sound right to any of you that are using T&C?

Well do you think I should call tomorrow and cancel the payment arrangement? Or talk to T&C first. These lousy (choose your favorite expletive) got me on the wrong day for sure. I hung up the phone and cried for 15 minutes (which makes me even madder that I couldn't think straight).

If you can swing it I would just keep the payment in place and also call T&C to tell them what's going on. I know I've paid them a couple of times some extra $$ just so they would stop calling if the payment arrangement fell off. Don't stress yourself out about it they are not worth it. Sometimes if they get too pushy I just push back or hang up and call them back.

My dealings with HSBC: They too called incessantly. Have taken me off the DM program twice. They keep charging me over the limit fees, sometimes twice a month. Am trying to get them under the limit, but they keep adding these stinkin' fees and now I'm up to about $180 OTL.

Had a woman call me in May wanting a payment. They said they didn't get a proposal from T&C. She was very condescending. She wanted $30. She says, "We're not talking a lot of money here." I told her, to me, $30 was a lot of money. "I'm sorry", she said. I told her I could pay on the 23rd. "What happens on the 23rd?", she asks. NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! To make a long story short I made arrangements to pay $30 and they charged me $30 overlimit fee so I made no headway whatsoever. I decided I needed the $30 more than they did. They haven't called me in June. T&C is taking care of it. Don't know if I'm on the program or not. I do know they're still charging me OTL fees.

Sorry for the long post.

I have them listed with my debt settlement program. I'm hoping they can come to some arrangments soon because I realize they are sue happy these days. I was able to removed an old medical bill of my husband's from our debt settlement program this week because it went to a CA. My husband called them as was able to settle the debt for half on his own. We are making six monthly payments to the CA and things will be taken care of. Fortunately, we will be able to keep the payment to the debt settlement company the same so this may shorten our program a little bit. I'm waiting on a new worksheet from them now.

I had another call from HSBC the other day and after explaining I am in consolidation, blah, blah, blah---the representative said "Well it is US you owe the money to, not your consolidation company!" Do they think I am unaware of this obvious FACT?

Why does someone collecting money always act like it gives them power to try and intimidate the person or pretend that they know something you don't? It is so obviously a power trip---some sniveling little snot nose that has a desk thinks he's a big shot collector!

Scooter is cute!! I have HSBC too. They called me every week and of course I ended up crying to. Got them with T&C for $10.00 they dropped me once for late payment of course they called and said when am I going to make a payment I said I would make a payment at the end of the month for $25. I then called T&C and they got HSBC to put me back on the program. I asked T&C to please pay them first and on the first of the month. I never did make that payment I said I would and I haven't gotten anymore calls from HSBC -and whatever you do do not get a car loan from them - I did or refinanced and they are a pain in the you know what to deal with - if you are five days late they call right at 8:00 am demanding payment. They are number one jerks - wish I never had any loans or cc or personal loans with them!!

oh2,

I can relate to your situation somewhat. I have them listed with my debt settlement company. I'm not with consolidation anymore. I tried to list them when I was with T &C but they absolutely refused because I was current on my payments. I have two cards with them and one loan that is listed on my debt settlement program. My company has contacted them and negotiations will start soon. I'm hoping my program gets shortened since we were able to drop one creditor and work out arrangments on our own. They call me all of the time and never leave a message. I just keep everything documented and turn it over to my debt settlement company. I'm going to try to send in extra money over the summer since I'm getting some overtime.

I have a loan with HSBC and am about 4 months behind. I have my accounts with Security Debt and have only been with the program for 3 months. I got a letter from a law firm that my HSBC account had been turned over. What would you suggest? Call them to see what payment arrangements can be made or wait a bit to see what security can do? I can't add anything to my debt payment settlements at this time. What is T&C?

Just wondering...can anyone tell me what to expect in terms of how quickly they might decide to sue? If they turn it over to a law firm does that definitley mean they will sue? I don't have enough money to settle - not for a long time probably.
I'm beginning to panic and don't quite know what to do.
Thanks!
