My husband had a wal-mart account and we got behind 2 payments and they turned it over to allied interstate and they left about 10 messages on my answering machine should I send them a validation letter?

YES! Personally I will ALWAYS send a DV letter. It may not even be his! These people are in fact human, contrary to popular belief, but human just the same and that means they can make mistakes. You should do a search on the forums for allied interstate(use the goole box). There are 10 pages of forum topics on them. Also you should go to budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/allied_interstate.htm and read what it says about them.

Hope this helps.

Raffi, go to the summary page compiled on allied interstate. Read the stories about their illegal collection practices. You will realize most of the debts purchased by them are often disputed or does not belong to the person they are in contact with. It will be good if you are careful while dealing with Allied Interstate. Get the debt validated in writing from the collection agency. If possible, try to reach the original creditor.
