Is it a fair credit card collection?

I recently finished making two years worth of payments to united recovery systems for a HSBC Bank debt which I thought would be paid off this month. Now they are calling me again to set up more payments. They set the payments up for 24 months last time and never once mentioned that I would still owe after these original payments were made. Needless to say I was in shock to learn that after paying $2510.00 on a $3,255.23 balance that now they tell me I need to pay a balance of $2,760.67 immediately. Can you please tell me if this sounds at all fair? And is there anything I can do about this? I will of course contact the Better Business Bureau and I am considering getting a lawyer envolved. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I think I am still in shock!

You need complete statements
Dear Nicki,
I am Vikas, welcome to the forums. Paying off forced and hidden fees will not be a wise move; I will suggest a debt validation. How much do I owe? If you are clear with it then sent another letter and get the complete picture.
Once the complete picture is in front of you, you can bargain for a fresh deal. Before complaining to BBB please sent a letter to creditor and inform them about your moves. I am sure they will come up with something genuine.
