I use. They allow you to skip/postpone credit card payments until the next billing date. This helps me get my finances in order when money is tight. It gives you some breathing room when your spreading your money really thin.

Most of the debt consolidation firms give you such an impression but when your financial condition is bad, its the only possible way to pay off the debts, and credit companies knows it well.
But still I say it's an art of negotiation , if you can negotiate it well with the proper laws, you can go debt free with a cleaner credit score.
We always make an effort to make the customer aware of complete process of debt consolidation during our counseling. This helps to get a cleaner credit report saying "paid as agreed".
