Please read what I wrote in another thread...

[quote=Mikey]The company that is calling everyone is called CreditPlus Rewards. They offer an online credit card that is allowed to make merchant purchases online. Most of these cards require a bank account, as they will deduct your purchases automatically.

Their address is:

505 E. Windmill Lane #1B-201
Las Vegas, NV 89123

Toll-free 800# is 800-975-5642

They also mention of a credit card (MasterCard) when you return the phone call on your caller ID 702-835-8602.

You can view their website for more information at creditplusrewards.com, as the BBB site has just started a new file on this company.

Mike

I also got this call twice last week. When I tried to call back, I got a recording and then if you try to leave a message is states the mailbox cannot take messages at this time. I agree they are anoying and want them to remove me from their call list. I am also on a Do Not Call list.

Thanks for the information Mikey.

Most of these lending companies will make inquiries in your credit report without any legitimate purpose. Inquiries lower the credit scores. Thus, it becomes very necessary to safeguard your ratings by stopping these offers from flowing towards you.

Call 1-888-5-OPTOUT (1-888-567-8688) and place your request to remove your name from the direct marketing lists. You can also contact the individual credit bureaus for opting out from the pre approved credit card offers. This effort will be helpful because it will remove the temptation to get further in debt

Mel

Anytime you get an auto-genterated call like this, or even a telemarketing call, chances are the system is on a dialer. If you say hello more than once, the system will automatically assume that they've reached an answering machine, and will hang up. There is usually a 2-3 second delay of pickup (on their end) from when you first say hello.

If you are not wanting to receive any type of telemarketing call you, you may sign up on the government registry at donotcall.gov

Mike

I got a call from this co. stating that I was approved for a $7500 credit line, a payday loan for $500.00, and an unsecured mastercard. The salesman claimed all of this was at o% interest for life. All I had to do was pay an initial fee of $129. I asked for the web site and phone #, which he gave me, so I could check out the co.. I could not believe this was a legitimate co. I have been unable to access the web site. "If it sounds to good to be true than it probably is". Accourding to the BBB, this co. may not even have a business license.

Tracy,

Don't get tempted towards these credit offers. Without knowing the background of the company, financial transaction is perhaps risky. You might get the first hit when your $129 will go into waste.

Some companies are very difficult to be tracked down later. Credit business is rising with a number of companies that come online. Be very careful before you make any decision that can turn risky.

CREDITPLUSREWARDS IS TERRIBLE!
I initially agreed to the terms, but changed my mind later. It had been almost 2 weeks before I was able to contact them. I had stayed on hold for over 30 minutes at times waiting to talk to a rep. I also sent them email. Today was the first time I was able to speak with someone and she tried to tell me that they didn't have bad customer service. I cancelled my account with them and won't fall for this trick any more! BEWARE!

Well, I was hurting for money. I called and got on of those cash til payday loans yesterday. I signed up from my work telephone. Today, i got three calls from credit plus. So thats how they got my info. I am on the do not call list, but im sure when i accepted that short term loan i signed up for some "YES, PLEASE SEND ME SPECIAL OFFERS" and "BUG THE CRAP OUT OF ME EVERYDAY" list.

I receive calls from 702-835-8602. Now they are calling my job and home. Today (2/7/06) a woman wanted me to verify my information over the phone - I ask what this was for and told her it sounded like a script she was reading. She said "it's not a script stupid" and hung up. What can we do to stop this?

Just today, they have called me a total of 5 times on my work phone line. It is getting very annoying and I am worried it will start putting my job in jeopardy. What should I do?

Collectors are allowed to call your place of work only to verify your employment. They should not discuss with anyone about your debt and other personal information. Unless you inform them in writing to stop calling you, they are not violating the laws.

Thus, you have to apply the ???do not call' policy. This should be done in writing for records with the company. After being informed, any additional calls coming to your work violates the fdcpa laws and the collectors can be shown the way to a class action lawsuit.

Mattch, have you enabled the 'opt out' feature in your credit report. This feature helps you in getting rid of all the telemarketing calls coming at your end. Contact the three national bureaus and have your name removed from their system. Once it's done, you won't get such telemarketing calls.

You can also send a mail to the direct marketing association for stopping such calls. You can not only stop these calls that can tempt you but you will be able to control your debt from rising higher.

My boyfriend signed up for Credit Plus Rewards and since we were hurting for money he decided to go for it. They withdrawaled 130$ from our account 2 weeks ago, sent him the credit, but still has not recieved $500 in our bank account. Whenever he tries to call them they charge him .80 cent per call and then hangs up on him. Any advice to anyone looking into this scam don't do it...I have a deep feeling we won't see that $500 nor get our $130 deposited back into our account.

Erica, try to involve your bank in this process. Some banks offer help in such situation by disputing the items with the company. If the company does not verify the debit with a legal explanation, money must be sent back to your account or you will have to take the legal direction. I am sorry to hear about your situation.

I received a call today at work offering me a credit plus reward card for $7,500. I figure something was wrong when the guy hung up after confirming my account information. I tried to call back to let them know I am not interest and have not had in success with the phone numbers. I am going to call my bank first thing to make sure they block this company from taking any money. I am also going to close my account and open a new one. Any thing that sound to good to be true always is. They got my information because I applied for a payday advance loan. There should be something done to this company.

You need to make one move and all the credit offers from different companies will stop coming to your place. Contact the credit bureau and enable the opt out feature in your file. Once it is activated, the credit companies will stop placing offers to you.

Equifax, Inc.
Options
PO Box 740123
Atlanta, GA 30374-0123

Experian
Consumer Opt-Out
701 Experian Parkway

You can also send your letter to the Direct Marketing Association. Your name will be removed from the system after your request is received.

Direct Marketing Association
Mail Preference Service
PO Box 643
Carmel, NY 10512

If you take these steps, you won't get the tempting credit offers that might increase your debt problems in the later stage.

Such scams do not give any warning signs. They just come and take away the money. Do your research on them properly with the help of the local attorney general office. They must be licensed to do business in your state.

You must inform your consumer protection office and send a copy of it to the local law enforcement agency also.

Crysmisty, Creditplus rewards has ripped off many other. The best way to deal with them will to place your complaints at the local AG's office as well as the FTC and the BBB. These bureaus have already received large number of complaints against them. So, we need to combine together and get this company shut down.

Which company called you? Have you had any dealing with them in past or this is the first communication between you.

It seems they have offered you a loan and you disagreed. Did you disclose your account information to them? If yes, I would suggest contacting your bank and see what they recommend. Keep us posted.

Ali,

Advance fee loans are big No No. Since you have already disclosed your personal information to them, keep a close eye on your bank statement. You can speak with your bank and see what they recommend.

Search BBB website and check if this company has any more address that you have not tried yet.

Go through this thread and see what FTC says about Advance Fee Loans-

Creditplusrewards just called me and said they were going to put 500 in my bank account and deduct their fee from the 500. Then I have some credit card coming in the mail that I can use online. Is this a good company?

I have just checked their report with Better Business Bureau. BBB has no information about its licensure. BBB also states that the type of business this company does, needs proper licensing. So please call Consumer Protection Office of your state and confirm if they are legit or allowed to do business in your state.

I would also suggest you to view the profile of Credit Plus Rewards with BBB. Keep us posted.

I must say, I have never been so frustrated in my life. I have experienced all the problems others have written in about. I want out and I want a refund, what are my chances? I did receive the "Access" card they offer, but never did receive the on-line credit card, plus today I received a postcard in the mail telling me that on a certain date they would be debiting my account for $14.00. I thought there were no other fee after the initial fee. I want to cancel out of this fraud.
