Hi Ari, i was just curious on what the manager's name is in the Pensacola office....I used to work at the Panama City office and i remember when they opened the office in Pensacola...And you are absolutely right i was very happy to leave that place

His initials are KC. I'll e-mail his full name to you, but for privacy purposes I don't want to display his name on a public forum. Were you a collector in Panama City? I think the Admin girl before Leia was named Deidra, it was her name that would appear next to her extension when she paged me. At first I wondered if your were the first Admin girl in Pensacola.
Well, now the Pensacola branch has fallen on it's duff and it officially closes in three weeks. That's one down, two to go!

Yeah i understand, i was just curious...anyway i received a collection letter from this LVNV LLC place and i think it's got something to do with Sherman Aqcuisition and i was doing some research and it caught my attention what you had to say...Funny, as i felt the same way and soooo relieved to leave that place. My heartiest congratulations to you Ari for your new job. Work ethics should be followed by bosses as well. Just because you are working under your boss he can't treat you like anything and when you have not done anything unethical. Well I think you have done a nice thing by not reacting to your boss's behaviour. The best way to leave, as jj said, is to do it with dignity.

Thank you, I did leave with dignity, but I'm still wounded and angry after all the crap I was given. The guy just loved to talk to me like I was the Village Idiot, embarass me in front of the whole office, and heckle me. The new job has yet to dull my frustration as that I am in fricking TELESALES!!!! All of the veteran sellers do good, but I'm a rookie so they have me calling old rejections just so I can get "used to it". I hope to God I can ease into this soon enough and start making money. I've been feeling like the one-legged guy in the kickboxing match since I moved to Florida, I'm just not winning!

I do have applications in at Wachovia, I'm also going to look into Bank of Pensacola and AmSouth. I had a bad day yesterday, but I'm starting to come into my own. Made a sale today, and will start running my own leads tomorrow morning. I deeply appreciate the moral support, JJ!

Guys, I'm just not doing so hot as a telemarketer. I cut out of work early today by faking nausea. I just feel complete uneasiness, not with the staff, they are very sweet, but I'm afraid I'm just too jaded to push people over the phone to buy something. My calling hours are during the dinner hours of everyone else. I'm being a nuisance and I know it. Still feel like a one-legged guy in a kickboxing match. Just feel like I've been operating at a loss since moving to Florida. I've applied online and in person to about 25 jobs today just looking for a real job. (Called a customer today who told me that I need to find a real job, and sadly he's right!)
This just flat out sucks! Down here in the genteel Old South, my husband's career is rising star, and mine is kaputz.

I think I have, there was a message on my answering machine from a recruiter at West Corporation in Pensacola asking me to come in and apply for a customer care position, which is activating credit cards and selling identity theft protection. I also recieved an e-mail from a guy at ESM Enterprises asking me to interview for an administrative or collections position. I'm a little leary of collections after all that sh!t at Protocol, but if it's student loans, I'll probably go for it. I am more hopeful of the customer care job though, I'm just sick of outbound calling!

Thank you guys for your support! I had high hopes for TruGreen, and it is a good company that sells a good product, but I'm just not a telemarketer. Many of the men who sell there are doing quite well, so perhaps it's one of those things where men just get a better response from people. Not that I have a beef with that, by all means let the men be telemarketers while the women do other things!

I also can't wait to get my degree! I'll have it in four months! Then I'll have enough free time to join a theatre group! I like to act, I've always wanted to do that!

I am happy to hear that Ari, I don't think you belong in that field of outbound calling, your personality is too sparkly for that, and not in a sleasy sales type of way :)

Keep us posted, at least you had a step up from Protocol, but I think there is something better in store for you!!

You know, if I leave the M out of my name, that leaves ary, and some people would pronounce that ARI! LOL...my brain is doing anything it can to not deal with reality today ;)

Very good! I actually pronounce my name (Ah-ree) but others say it (air-ee) I still know that I'm the one being paged, so no biggy. Ari is short for Arielle (a name I always hated) and the first two syllables can be said either way.

I think Arielle is a pretty name, but I hate the name Mary, so I know what you are saying :P

I always wanted a simpler name. It always drove me nuts when teachers of all people couldn't even get past the first syllable. When I was little, i wanted to change my name to Jane, back when I collected student loans, I had the option of using an alias and I took advantage of it. I introduced myself to borrowers as Kyra.

That is such a sweet alias. I would have picked Arwen though.... :wink:

I have found that the old "Two week notice" and others are no good anymore! Once you tell an employer that you are leaving (regardless of your relationship with the company) you are treated and considered like dirt! Companies that let you leave on good grounds are few and far between anymore. I'd leave right now and take the new job!

That's ugly! It also makes people feel completely unappreciated and like their not even people to them! One time at Protocol, during one of the later shifts, my blood sugar was dropping so I got up to get a bottle of juice and a bag of crackers from the vending machine, as I walked past the manager, he said to me "I don't know how you can afford snacks, you never collect any money!"
I tried to laugh it off and be a sport, but I felt like such a chump and I found that incredibly rude! What's wore is that he said that in front of other staff members and he embarassed me!

the true test of whether or not a job was a good one is how you feel when you leave.. If when you depart it is a bittersweet mixture of excitemetn for what lay ahead and sadness becasue of those you leave behind..it was a good place to work..... if it doesnet feel that way.. then it is good that you have left it behind for it was not a healthy place to work.

You're right jj in a way, but if the sadness is only because you're going to miss co-workers and has nothing to do with the CEO's, etc. It's not the same!
I left a job where I was Manager and they always talked of how Great I was and all. I still get along very well with co-workers I had there but the Owner won't even speak to me to this day unless he is forced to. That's been about 10 years or so ago!
I think the true test is whether or not you can hold your head up high when you leave and still do the same if you go back to visit or meet the Top Dogs later and they treat you like you are still the great person they said you were while you worked for them!

Hey gang! You were right! I just got hired for a very good postiion at West Corporation. They are very big with mucho room for advancement! I'm so psyched!

My husband just got a company American Express card through his work for trips. Instead of us getting the expense check, it will be put directly to the card through the company.

March 14th. My husband also has American Express, and I just told him about this job and he's pleased. I'll keep everybody posted.

Oh, btw, there are annual fees on some American Express cards, that's why I only have Visa and Mastercard. There is just that points rewards and all that other fun stuff that attracts people like my husband to getting their blue card.

I just randomly happened upon this forum while looking up information on Protocol Recovery Services. My mother just had them take $280-some dollars out of her account randomly. As far as she knows she has never even heard of them before. Any suggestions? Thanks

I found this thread on Protocol Recovery Services. It sounds they are a third party debt collector. You need to call them and verify the debit done in the checking account. Your bank can also help after you confirm the charges unknown to you. They will place a dispute with the company and verify the item.
