Hey it's me pain in the butt. LOL The list that these Lawyers List as Bad debt collectors... Well I just opened mail up and I have just received 3 Names on that List today Gerald Moore & Associates,pc
..National Action Financial Services, Inc...Arrow Financial Services. Funny huh. Right before bank day. Well I now know who Michael Steele is he is from National Action Financial Services, when he calls he starts out with his name and then phone number then proceeds to say that this is the most important matter at this time in my life, he needs to hear from us before he makes the Final decission on this matter. He will make a decision for us if he doesn't hear from us by today. hummmmmmmmm make a decision for us I don't think so he's not a lawyer. According to the letter they have a settlement amount by a date what's funny  though is the date the amount must be received by is 12/28/05 for &883.50 but if we can't make the settlement amount it MAY be possible to extend the deadline under certain cicumstances. hummm ah well well NO!! The letter is dated dec 8th, 2005 there numbers that comes on caller ID is 716-565-1020 but they tell us to call 866-265-5287. Why such an outdated letter to be sent?
Gerald Moore well that started as a Capital one account which Capital One services is trying to collect, Cap One charged it off then I have a letter from OSI Recovery Solutions who says I have to pay them the money and all it in one lump sum for Cap One account. Then I have this letter from Gerald Moore & Ass. they want monthly payments as soon as I send the first payment they will stop any further collection actions. Then if I elect to make payments by phone it's a addtional $7.50 per transaction it's a fee in addtion to our actual payment and does not go towards the money owed. But Only Capital One shows up on the credit report There is no OSI or Gerald Moore on my credit report. Hummmmmmmm RED FLAG A BIG ONE!
Then Arrow Finac. well I found out it's for 1st Premier card but it shows that it is a charge-off a PAID charged off. But Arrow Finc has it that they are collecting it then I received a letter today from Forster & Garber Ny Law firm, they want the money. Well nobdy is getting it my Credit report says PAID CHARGED-OFF.The only problem I have is that I don't have any of the bills anymore can't find them. So long ago 5yrs. The credit report on 1/10/2006 says PAID Charged -off on all 3 reports, but todays credit report just shows Charged -off. I do remember that it was PAID full amount$463 but the CA want $783.
Fingerhut takes the cake. They carged-off my account and according to my credit reports one says RJM is collecting and the other 2 say Jefferson Capital AKA Concocre and RJM ACQUISTIONS LLC are collecting it now Island National Group LLC is collecting for RJM and the letter has a coupon on it for $42.00 off my account and every month there after what ever I pay I will receive a coupon for that amount to be taken off till it's paid in full. They will match what ever I pay. The Letter reads AXSYS National Bank;Fingerhut; RJM Acquistions LLC, Assignee of Fingerhut; Island National Group LLC. Well now who actually has the account hummmm? My guess would be as good as anyone elses at this point. who do I pay if I want to.

And yes I know dispute them all and validate all paper work. Going to! With all the right letters thanks to you all. At least I know where to begin.
And BANK day. Already to go for it with all paper work and dispute copies of letters. Which will be going out in todays mail. :!:

Hi pcbusdriver, the collectors are playing all sorts of games on you. These gangs are trying to tarnish your credit file from all corners. They just won't leave any space. If anyone sees your file now, they won't put a good view on it unless you prove that most of these items are in dispute. Show your bank the copies of your dispute. Then only they will understand your story.

Dispute with the credit report on this item. If asked for reason, show your last copy that shows the item as paid charged off. They have to verify this item with the OC and give you proof of why this sudden change appeared in your file.

Hold yourself strongly when you are getting a collection call. Do not panic. Ask for their mailing address for sending them the debt validation letter. If they can get the account details, you will review it. After everything is shown properly, you will consider paying it. But if they don't give you any information, you can refuse them legally paying the debt. Have everything documented and send letters through registered mail with return receipt requested. It will be much easier to take care of your file and remove the disputed items if everything can be tracked in proper time.

Thanks, I did just that I wrote the needed letters and mailed them out, did all 3 CRB with disputed material. What I liked is all the disputed material I had orginal paper work to send right with the letter. The bank did say if most of the disputed material is taken care of it will boost my credit score up. I did sent certified just waiting for the green little card to come back, for the 30 days do I go by the date on the letter or by date they signed for it? I don't know if ya saw the other posting but we were DECLINED for that loan right on the spot. They said we had to have a 650 score highest for hubby was 595 and mine 568.
I do have a question though maybe you can help with or anyone for that matter ,please.
This Citifinancial loan we have is marked charged off and have letter that they sent saying so. It was listed as a 2nd mortgage, here's the thing the bank said if I would have kept the message on my machine about them calling us and saying that we would never be able to get any other mortgage or refi loan with anyone but them, she said she could have played that for her boss and made a decision about that account and she said I could have given that to an attorney or Attorney General to file charges. Because that is exactly what they are doing if anyone contacts them about this matter they charged-off the account but anyone calls they say it's forclosed or in forclosure but they tell us that it's not in /or forclosed on just charged off. My hubby thought about going down to them and saying hey if we pay the back payments to current then pay the current payments from here on out would they change our credit report, don't know how we can do that it's about $2,400 to be caught up. Here's the thing can they re-open a charged off account and have it listed on the credit report as paying as agreed upon or does the charged-off words stay there till paid in full then read PAID Charged-off. :?: :?: He wants to go down and plead and beg with them to either refi there loan or pay all past due then start paying current payments. But I know if they do refi they want to pay off our 1st mortg. but there refi loan payments are $695 with no escrow account thats our problem and interest is about 12.5% or above. we are only paying $423 with 7.125% now with an exscrow account why would we want to change that. :? I just want to know what we can do with them. Help :!: So depressed.
:( Paula

Hi Paula,

I'm sorry that you were declined for that loan, that is a bummer and we were crossing our fingers for you. :( I would talk to somebody at a licensed loan center, not a bank. Banks tend to have higher standards and it is much harder to qualify for a loan from them. I am a loan officer (not a a bank, at a loan center) and I have been able to get loans for clients with a mid score of 510. It just depends on your situation. Good luck!

~Mary :)

Once negative information hits the file, you can't get it removed from your credit report before 7 years. However, you can improve the status and make your credit look better by paying it off. Once paid, the account will be shown as 'paid charged off'. This is better than not paying because the lenders will understand that you took your share of responsibility instead of leaving it unattended.

'Paid as agreed' in your credit report would have appeared before the account got into charged off status. Late payments can be updated with this status but negative information unfortunately cannot be replaced.

Paula, regarding the other part of your query, follow what Mary suggested. She knows this line of work so you can consider talking to someone at a licensed loan center.
