I have a question I am kind of confused & T&C is closed on Saturdays. I have already sent my initial pymt to T&C. I thought the person I spoke w/ there told me they were going to pay off what was due. I would then receive receipts that everything was pd in full. I would then begin paying them. Now when I read some of these cmnts on the forum it sounds like proposals are being sent & some companies may not accept the proposal. I feel a little worried now. Did I totally misunderstand? Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated.

this doesn't sound right. They don't pay the creditors BEFORE, and you pay them...they propose payment plans to the creditors, then with the payment you send them, they send to the creditors, and I think some creditors will say they won't accept the debt settlement, but eventually, after recieving a few payments, will be fine. Anyone correct me or lgall if we are wrong...

You are correct! T & C will send proposal letters to all of your creditors, even if they dont accept the amount proposed T & C will start sending them payments as soon as you make your first payment. If they cash the check then that means they have accepted the proposal. After they receive the first few they should stop harrassing you, but if they dont just have them call T & C and they will handle it as best they can.

Dont worry! You have made the right decision!

Heather =)
