I just received a call at work for NPA number is 1-800-701-5215. Anybody know who they are? I checked the number in the BBB website and could find no info on them. Any help would be appricieated.

They are National Payday Advance. I'm also dealing with them and I got a sample cease and desist letter can I send them this one:

Pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 U.S.C. section 805., you are hereby notified to cease and desist all further communication with me in regard to the referenced debt. Failure to abide by this law will result in a complaint being filed against you with the Federal Trade Commission, the Attorney General of both your state and mine, and also your own company management. I also reserve the right to file suit against you for any future violations of this law. I will record any phone calls if you fail to comply with this cease and desist.

Sincerely,

Hi

The collection agencies are bound by laws to follow the fdcpa. You can send a cease and desist letter for stopping communications with you. If you do not have any account with them, this letter is perfect for the situation. However, if you have a debt, give them room to be contacted by letters only. If you do not mention this point, they will assume that you are trying to avoid the debt and will take negative actions.

Secondly, when you say that you want to file a lawsuit on breaking of the law and will record the phone calls, check the laws in your state if it requires permission from both the parties or you can do it secretly. If you are not aware of the laws and do something unusual, the company will be in charge of taking actions against you. It is a must that you are aware of the laws in your state before you make a move.

Okay than I need another letter to this company that will make them stop contacting me at work. They are unwilling to work with T & C and they continue to call me at work yelling at me. I just want them to stop calling. I dont think in California I can record their calls but I can still keep a record of them calling after I send them this letter. I'm just not sure how to word it because they are the orginal company and not a collection agency.
