I have done an internet search that led me to Allied Mutual Brokers. I have not been contacted by these people other than an email stating that they had received my application. Due to the Prime Time Lending scam - I am WAY skeptic of anything. But I have done some checking, i.e., their ip address and whatnot. But I was wondering if before I continue if anyone else has heard and/or done business with them before? Thanks.

I have been contacted by Allied Mutual Brokers. They are a firm that does secured loans. Secured by collateral,i.e co-signers with AAA credit and/or $50k/yr income or more; homeownership or an insurance policy. I have not done businesss with them, I am doing my "due diligence" on their validity.

I did an internet search and found this company they were very helpful. I applied for a $20,000.00 loan to start my business but due to my credit history I was only approved for $10,000.00 I found them to be quite understanding and would recommend them.

I just wanted to say to anyone out their trying to get a loan from this company that when a company ask for money for an insurance policy they are not legit!!! The reason I know is because me and my husband were scammed out of 2100 dollars to pay for insurance to get a 20000 loan they took our money and disappeared it was just a loan scam. Please dont make the mistake I did. They prey on desparate people I know because I was one. I have also talked to bank representatives who say a legitimate loan company will not ask for any advance fees! There is no insurance it is a scam! God Bless and give you wisdom

I emailed the BBB and gave them the info I had on the company. They emailed me back and said that they went to the building the claimed to be at and found out there was no allied mutual broker company any where in the building. They also said the have tried to reach them by phone and email and they won't return either of them. They told me that they firmly believe that the are a scam!!!!!!!

I checked the BBB and now there is a report, but does not state anything about them except that they have been in good standing in the past three years. I have also found another address for them. I am in the process of checking it out.

I have submitted a request on their website.

I received an automated reply message from their email system.

I received a voice message on Friday 9/02/05 from a "Susan Olson" of Allied Mutual Brokers. She asked me to return her call at 1-800-664-1006 x2.

At first, on 9/03/05 at approximately 2:00pm, I tried extension 2. Someone answered and said "Dot dot dot," followed by silence. I hung up. I then tried calling extension 2 again, and got the voicemail of Susan Olson.

I then tried calling again and trying various extensions, all of which went to voicemail. Here are the names of people on the voice message of the extensions:

x1: Tina White
x2: Susan Olson
x3: Regina Struckman
x4: Nancy James
x5: Sylvia West
x6: Amber Goldstein
x7: Brenda McMillan
x8: Beverly Martin
x9: Patti Tuhicks

I tried calling a few of the extensions again, and this time Beverly Martin picked up at extension 8. She asked for my name and transferred me to someone who asked for my name and phone number. She said she would call me "right back."

After about thirty minutes, I called extension 8 again and asked why I had not received a phone call. Beverly Martin again asked for my name and phone number and said she would call me back in five minutes, or I could call her in five minutes.

After approximately ten minutes, I had not received a call. I called extension eight again, and Beverly Martin said she had not found anything out and would call me back in thirty minutes, or I could call her back.

After about thirty minutes, I called extension 8 again and got voicemail.

I noticed upon calling the last time that the music playing on hold was a radio station that identified itself as being in Toronto.

------

I did some more research on this supposed company. The address listed on their website, alliedmutual.com, is leased by Fiona Forkner of Staubach Company (Fiona.Forkner(at)staubach.com) who says that there is no Allied Mutual in that building.

Further, none of the phone numbers at alliedmutual.com or alliedmb.com work.

This is a scam. Do not talk with them or submit any information.

A couple of places you can start is the BBB. I also looked on networksolutions.com and looked to see when their website was created. It will also tell you if the website is disabled. You can also find out the I.P addy on this site and the location of the I.P addy and where the registrant of the website is located. This is what helped me in deciding not to go through with these so called "lenders".

I recently applied to allied mutual, last week actually and sent the deposit of $2500 to secure my loan. I actually had heard of insuring a loan before so I didn't really think about it. It's been 5 days and no money so if you're thinking about getting a loan from them wait until I hear more about what's going on. I already have a lawyer on standby and have sent a complaint to the BBB.

I was recently ripped off by another company who stated I had to pay for the insurance to secure the loan before they could release my money. When I called Allied Mutual back to speak with their representative the recording sounded identical to the previous company who took my money and ran. When I spoke with the rep she stated I had to have a co-signer or secure insurance before they could complete the loan. Due to the previous incident I am well aware that a loan company cannot legally ask you to pay money up front. All valid companies will remove those funds from your loan amount and secure the insurance themselves. When I confronted the rep @ Allied she tried to tell me that it was because the insurance does not go through them so they could not issue any money until I secured the loan. Needless to say I saved myself the pain and suffering and declined to do bunsiness with them. PLEASE beware of any company that asks you for money up front! Don't let these people prey on you just because you're in a tough spot!

smf,

I too confronted one of these so called "lenders" on the reason for needing money upfront. The mistake they made was telling me that the money I send would go directly to the "investor" although the money is in the "lenders" account ready for disbursement. Another mistake they made was informing me they were in Wisconsin and kept insisting that they were on the same time zone as myself(Florida). These scammers make little mistakes thinking we wont catch on.

kc1925- read the forums and listen carefully to what the so called "lender" says. You can always catch them off guard.

yeah the MONEY that they were willing to loan sounded so GOOD, but the one lady i talked to was saying that i needed a co - signer or pay 998.00 for insurance. well when i told her i'm gonna have to find a co - signer because i don't have that kind of money, and she was like well if you purchase the insurance you would not need a co - signer and if you get a co - signer than that person need to make at least 70,000 a year. what kind of crap is that??

The number I was to call them at was 888-213-6547 and my "broker" was Sally Travis. The extensions are 1- Jackie Nole, claiming to be HR, 2-Sally Travis, 3-Sandra Wayne, 4- Connie Libbett, and 5 did not say a name. I also heard the Toronto radio station as the music. I was supposed to recieve my money on Saturday, when I called on Tuesday I got an answer once and Sally told me the accounting department had the account number wrong, but that it would be there that day. Today I don't get any answers and still no money. I am screwed because I borrowed the money from someone to send to them. Also, whenever "Sally" would call me, the number would be a 646 area code, which is New York, but when I try to call that number back it is a loud beep. I am not playing though. The FBI will be investigating this. If anyone needs to report any online fraud to the FBI, the website to do so is ic3.gov

bigde0569,

An important thing to remember is that a legitimate lender will not ask for money up front before issuing you the loan. Whether its for insurance, payments in advance or anything else. They should be able to subtract the insurance from the loan being disbursed if they were a true lender. I would definitely advise against doing this. If it sounds too good to be true, then more than likely its not. I hope this helps.

bguest.. you got the money? did you have to send in money. my hubby and i are going through the same thing with allied mutual brokers. saying they need us to send 980.75 for insurance to get a 10,000 loan. i have picked up on a few things like the money is to be money grammed to canada. also the time difference. i am in central and the lady we talked to says she's in the same timezone but she is an hour behind us.
we confronted the lady we talk to about the BBB. my hubby called this morn they said that they have had reports from consumers that this company is a scam. she was a little upset about that report. as to the BBB site is has been being updated everytime i try to check this company out.
i also know for a fact that if there is an insurance policy that needs to be secured to get the loan they will take that amount out of the loan.
I will update tomorrow. hubby is calling the BBB again in the morn.
