So, what's everyone do here for work? I mean ya dont' have to give ur co name or anything personal... just ur occupation.
I work for a local builder as his admin assistant. I tweak the new house plans, get the job set up and ready to go, hire all subs, then supervise it as it goes along... plus all the paper work involved from beginning to end.
We build custom homes in a gated community.
I love my job!

Thanks guys..I can't wait for Boston either..Pray that I stay healthy for it.

Debtcruncher, thank you. I can't even tell you how I hate my job. I deal directly with over 250 people, and I spread myself thin. The union workers make up to $30 an hour and work 60 hr weeks most of the time. But they never have enough money, and they are always getting garnished or disciplined for something. It IS always my fault. Just like the company standards seem to be my fault. I can't even tell you how many people have threatened to grieve me. I honestly hate my job. It makes me miserable. I have my BS in philosophy, and there isn't much else I can do that pays this well.

Fins, I am certainly not a runner, but my best friend is . He is like you in that he trains religiosly. It is more than a passion with him. He actually just got back from a 20 mile training run. He does the NYC marathon in November, then in January he does the marathon at Disney World.l He also races every weekend,
Me , I get tired just from thinking about it,

I bet on your end, when they get garnished, they want to argue with you about why it's so much. And you don't have the answer because you're just going by a court order, which probably makes them fume. I guess you just get people who are mad in general over something, and you're the only person they can vent at because the CEO doesn't take phone calls...s

Fins, As a supervisor of 22 staff, I sympathize. I wish just once someone would take responsibility for their actions and understand there are rules, laws and policies that have to be followed and I did not have a hand in making them nor do I make them up as I go along just to piss them off or screw them.

I missed the whole athletic talk when I posted without reading the whole thread!! I used to be quite athletic, snow ski, raquet ball, tennis, running, bowling, skating, played baketball all through high on a girls state team....then in my early 30's I blew my knee falling down a snow run up in Wisconsin...after 2 years of rehab...I blew the same knee in raquet ball...dr. sid no more or I'd have to have the knee replaced...so now I can walk, swim and that's about it....:(...but it was a blast! Nothing like racing down a hill with the wind in your face...

They went to an amusement park several hours away. It is a reward for scoring high on their state academic testing. My friends husband..who is their ball coach and scout master went with them or he would not have gone. They are supposed to be back at midnight. It is 11:25 here. I will leave in a few min.

Oh my! What a bunch of interesting jobs! Man. I feel soooooooo boring now. Well, I did to begin with, so thanks for rubbing it in! Now I know if I have collection questions to go to FYI, if I have any human resource/garnishment questions to go to Fins, if I have any questions AT ALL, to go to debtcruncher, if I have any medical questions, to go to Pyb, if I have any snowblower/lawnmower questions, to go to puddle, if I have any questions regarding my eyeballs, to go to morningstarr, and if I decide to admit I have a substance abuse problem, to go to bossy and eleroo! Good to know! Wonderful jobs everyone has. Well, except granny. She needs a job. We'll try to help you there, granny! I work for a very cool guy who owns his own business. He's young, good looking, and cusses like a friggin sailor! Damn! It's cool though. We have guys that travel all over the United States, so I get to deal with them a lot. I love it. They are such fun! They all cuss like sailors! I do a bit of EVERYTHING since the office is small. But it's pretty cool because we can be very casual, I can feel free to use the "F" word freely, as I so love to do, the boss goes out of town a lot so I can get on here and post. There's good things and bad things about working for a small office. I think everyone knows that. But otherwise, it's much better than past jobs I've had. One at a school where I had to dress up every day and be "nice". Killed me! One at a very large lab which was pretty damn gross since we all know what kind of "specimens" are in a lab. Yuck! One at an engineering company that I did love but they sold to another company. Okay. I've rambled. . . . .

Mind if i ask when u go? Is it same time each year? We're always there the first weekend in Feb, ususally Superbowl weekend. Usually leave on the Thursday and return the following Thursday.
I NEVER get tired of Disney, each time is as magical as the first!

Oh btw one year my daughter met Paul McCartney there!! He gave her his hotel key with his name on it and told her to get something for herself on him! She didn't even know who he was! But one of the moms told her to take a pic with him and she did with her camera phone!
Lucky girl! Of course i had decided to go to Universal that day and wasn't with her.... :(
Ang
P.S. She didn't charge anything to him but we still have the credit card looking key and the pic framed in the music room!

I think that's the best time to go! Not too hot and not as many people!
We'll be there this year again! I thought when she graduated from dance that it would be over but she continues to dance and loves it! It's weird too cuz she's SO shy, i'm amazed how she gets up in front of 10's of thousands of people and preforms!
Have a great trip!

I know I'm late in this but....i work at a bank opening new accounts. COnsumer and Business, but I specialize in business accounts. I also do equity lending and business lending. Oh...and credit cards. That's the part I hate. I have to ask everyone who opens a new account if they want to apply for a credit card. And I really don't like it when they are students that I KNOW will just piss the money away with no idea how to properly use credit. I've been in banking for 6 years. Started at the bank I'm with in 2001, worked for a different bank for 2 years, and came back to my original bank a year ago. Grass is always greener doesn't mean it's better. Maybe there's really a big stinky septic tank under that grass! That's how it was in my case.
