On 5/18/09 I paid in full my negative Chase checking account because they sent me a letter that they were closing it on 5/22/2009. On 5/18/2009, my account balance was $0 and my account was closed on 5/22/2009. I was reported to ChexSystems for "Account Abuse". I was made aware of this when I opened my Fifth Third checking but 53 opened a REGULAR (not a 2nd chance) checking account for me anyway. Yesterday, I went to open an account at a local credit union because I applied for a loan. I was shocked to learn that I was reported to ChexSystems for an UNPAID debt with Chase Bank. The credit union opened an account for me as high risk in order to get my loan. I am FURIOUS with Chase Bank. I have the receipt that on 5/18/2009 my acocunt was PAID IN FULL. Why are they reporting me to ChexSystems as unpaid? Should I contact Chase directly by phone or person (I work next door to the Chase HQ in Chicago).

Technically by law they should remove the entire report since it is not accurate and according to the FCRA it MUST be 100% accurate

You can of course call the bank and insist that they update the record and I am guessing that they will or you can attempt removal and dispute with chexsystems. If the record is not completely removed, at the very least it will be updated to show that it is paid
