I was just gonig through my records, and scanning and categorizing statements, mostly from CA's so that I will have everything in order for my petition. I realized that there are three creditors that I have not received anything from in months. It appears that after I told BofA, Cap One, and Target that I have retained a bk attorney, they have just sat on the accounts. I have had no collection activity from any of them. It just seems strange to me, as I have read that Cap One in particular is one of the quickest to file suit. Every other account, (Dell, GE Money Bank, Citibank, Chase, Home Depot, t-Mobile. and World Omni), have all sent my accounts through at least one collection agency. A couple of them have even b een through three or four. I have not pulled my credit report. I am waiting until closer to filing, for the free copies. I am not real lconcerned, just a little confused by the fact that there is not collection activity on over $14000 of debt.

if they are included in your petition.they are probably planning on attending the meeting of creditors and contest the BK.

Just for the record, I have not filed the petition yet. The date of default was August of 2008, and I retained the attorney in November of 2008. There is no "fraudulant" activity on the accounts. None of them even had enough avaialable credit to go over the amounts that would be allowed before the filing. My lawyer does not contact the creditors. It is up to them to contact him if they want to get info, and then they will just be told that I have retained him.
It just seemed a little odd to me that they have not tried any collection activity at all in almost a year, when GE Money Bank and HSBC are constantly sending my accounts to different collectors, and I have to keep giving the new collectors the attorney's contact information.
