Who in their right mind posts their name and social security number in a public forum?

Someone ought to delete that...
I have a past due account with you I do not have my account # my social securty number is ********* if you could please contact me via email with my account number and payment due.
Hi,

First and foremost, I would like to warn you about being more protective about your social security information. This is a public forum and you do not want the whole world to have access to your identity. In this age of identity theft, we have to be more vigilant.

Now, concerning your account, you should take this issue up with the company directly. Unless you are baking that the collection agency is actually reading this board, your claim will go unheard. You need to address it directly with the company. The contact information is directly above in the first post.

Can you tell me anything about this company? I have been trying to set up payment arrangements with them, however, they refuse and have given me until 5pm today to pay one amount and then wed at 5pm to pay another amount. The girl then hung up on me. I have spoken to someone else before and set up arrangments but the girl today said they can't do that, I have to pay the account in full. I'm confused. She also inferred that she was going to come to my job and speak to my boss...she only quoted the street and my bosses name...no town or state. Is this for real?

It's against the law for a creditor to tell your boss that you owe them money........and it's illegal for them to threaten you like that, although they do it anyways. You can report them to your state's attorney general's office if they continue to threaten you or deny you the ability to pay your account.

Did you know that most of the things these agencies say and do is illegal? Did you also know that to sue them for one of there illegal acts would be free to you? When you sue a collection agency, they have to pay for your lawyer. And if you get a good enough lawyer you will win. Just try and record any calls that you have with them. They are bound to break one or more laws during each phone call. I know this for a fact, i work at a collection agency and used to collect debt myself. I never broke laws, but heard other people doing it FAR to often.

No one should pay anything to Certified Recovery Systems. It's uncertain if they really are a collector for the companies they claim they are. I have just gone through filing complaints with the FTC, Attorney General, etc. on them. They violate Fair Debt Collection practices by calling family members even though they can reach you. They call you at work when you have told them not to,and I have a recording on my work voice mail threatening me. They call family members minutes after they talk to you even though they are only allowed to make a call to them -- generally only once -- if they are unable to locate you. They will call sick or aged family members even though you have told them not to. They threaten to call your boss and tell the person about your debt even though they have no judgment or right to garnish wages. They tell you that you can only pay off debts via a single method -- be it post-dated check, money gram, or whatever suits their fancy at the time. If you disagree with them or say you will report them, they hang up on you. They have listed at least three addresses in the Houston area in the past year and will not accept mail at any of them and they don't give you any address where you can send mail. You should send a certified letter requesting validation of the debt. Go to creditinfocenter.com if you want to learn how to do this. When your mail is returned to you as unaccepted, then you file a complaint with the credit reporting bureaus indicating that they not only are not reachable at addresses given but they have refused to offer validation of the debt. The credit bureau has to then follow through with your complaint -- let them see if they can get validation of the debt. This collection company is filled with bottom feeders and is not legitimate as far as I am concerned.

George,

You must contact Certified Recovery to get specific answer of your query. This is debt consolidation care. You can get their contact details on the previous page of this thread.

FYI, this site offers debt consolidation help to pay off your debts. Once you enroll in the program, you will get a free counseling. The consultant will prepare a suitable payment plan for you and negotiate with your creditors on your behalf to settle your accounts at a convenient amount.

I would like to pay my outstanding bill but not sure where to send the money, and what i dont understand is why they put the bad things on my credit report but never put that i was paying on time, up untill i ran into money problems. And when i get phone calls are these really lawyers or just a collection agency.

Pauline,

BBB listing shows that Certified Recovery is a collection agency. You can get their contact address on the first page of this thread. Also check with BBB for additional addresses if any.

They are required to report your account accurately. You have mentioned that you are an on-time payer. This is definitely a good sign and it will help you increase your credit score. So ask them to report your account properly. If possible make an agreement so that they report your account as you pay and get it signed.

Bryan,

the Cash today and other payday loans are not on the credit report saying that i was making payments, instead when i ran into a promblem they took me to collections and put it on my acct. If they would have put on my credit report that i paid all the time that would have been great. but not a single report from any of them. So the address on the front is the one to make payments too?

Pauline,

Who did you send your payments, OC or the collection agency? It is their responsibility to report it. You can contact them and ask to report your account details.

I think someone from their concern would be the best person to comment who is the contact person and how you can get in touch with him.

One more thing I would like to add here, FCRA allows you to dispute any entry that you think incorrect. You can also add a statement with your credit report, this way you can give an explanation of your situation. You can use this tool, if your lender and collection agency cannot resolve your query.

I think you have mistaken identifying this site. This is debt consolidation Care. Please contact the company that is appearing in your report and ask for a verification.

You can also dispute the entry with credit bureaus. Because you are a victim of ID theft, they will cooperate with you.

Hi Darlene

Don't be tensed. Get a piece of paper and write a debt validation letter requesting for the complete details of the account. Tell the company that you need to verify the account before you pay them anything. Send this letter through certified mail with return receipt requested.

You must also mention in your letter that you refuse to be contacted at your place of work and all correspondences should be done in writing. This is a cease and desist clause and the company must follow it. If they don't do it, you can file a class action lawsuit against them.

After you have put the request for the complete debt details, the company is required to respond with the information. If they are unable to do so, you can explain the situation to the credit bureau and urge them to investigate on this matter. They will be able to give you the results within 30 days after receiving your letter.

I am trying to reconcile information on my credit report. Information from CRS on my report shows that I am in default for $600.00 to two separate companies, PREFERRED CASH, and UNITED CASH. Who are these companies and who put this information on my Credit Report? Please reply, as this is really gumming up the works.

I guess I get to add to this thread. I received a voice mail from Linda Brown yesterday evening. It gave me a file number and a phone number to call back, but no mention of a company name. I tried to call them back but they were closed for the day. I had to call them back immediately for them not to process me further. I love those idle threats, NOT! Their voicemail didn't even state who they were; I don't understand how companies can run like this. So, I did some research on the phone number and phone out it was CRSI. Boy, there is a bunch of negative information about them out there. It seems they break all kinds of fdcpa laws so I'm really not looking forward to dealing with this company. I have a feeling it has to due with the two final pdl lenders that I have been fighting over the past couple of months. So, I typed up the debt validation request and that will go certified mail on Monday. Does anyone know a fax number for this company? I like to fax these requests as well. Thanks.

I just got off the phone with David Noble and Ron Corral at CRS. Ron Corral played good agent, while David Noble screamed at me, called me an idiot, refused to give me an address, refused to verify my debt, threatened me with a lawsuit, told me the marshall would be coming to my door to get me, and so on. He claimed to be an attorney (although, by the way he spoke, I doubt he has any kind of education at all), and he told me I'd better start looking for an attorney as well. He also told me that they were connected with the law offices of Louis Vasquez. The problem is, they won't let me make any payment arrangments. They either want payment in full or four payments of $350 within twelve hours to be paid within two weeks. Do I need to be frightened? Are they really going to sue me? I did report them to the FTC, for I know they are violating fdcpa regulations. Now I plan to send a certified letter--the validation one--but is there anything else I can do?

First of all, they did away with debtors prison! I would send the debt validation as you said, and also send a cease and desist letter that all communication be via mail. These idiots, and others like them, will not talk in a civil manner,so it's best to do it through the mail. Make sure your debt is validated,is correct in the amount, etc.,before you agree to pay them. Sometimes they do not have a legal claim to be collecting the debt,so you want to be sure of all the facts first.Keep us posted, any other questions, feel free to ask....Karen

Thank you Anthony. The phone numbers I came up with are 713-464-8322 also 713-464-4449. But the address I got on my credit report is different than on the web site. I think I got a great forgery charge on a con-artist and a guy who was in prison for 7 years. If they will work with me.

I would like to thank Mr. John Davis of certified recovery systems. I finally got to talk to him and he looked at the lease from the apt. complex and found that I was not on it. He called the credit company and told them that I was not on the lease. My credit should be restored. Thank you Mr. Davis

I am having the hardest time with this company. This account was established by a fraudulent person from the internet, with only a SSN and a non-residential address. The money was posted to an account that did not match my name and did not require a signature or telephonic voice verification. I disputed this account in 2005, faxed all of the supporting documents needed and the company agreed not to contact me anymore based off of the proof I provided. What they didn't tell me was they were selling my account to a sister company and today I'm still fighting the same account from 2005. Today I filed a police report in the local town (just a standard form-no bells and whistles). It's time consuming and frustrating to deal with fraud, identify theft and fighting a war all in the same week. I????????m looking for a good attorney to settle this issue so my family and I can move on with our lives. Break- This is the Husband and father of the family and I am here to say that it is important to periodically check your credit report, because had it not been for the fact that me and my wife were refinancing our home it may have been another two years before we found out that this ring of collection agency circumventing would still be affecting our credit report and everything else that we hold dear in our lives. We are taking legal action even if this requires taking out a loan from a CREDITED INSTITUTION we will not pay this judgment period. We are two Soldiers in the United States Army that go to work everyday to fight for freedom and the very people that we protect are not protecting us. This feels like a stab in the back that we have to deal with this type treatment. Please comment if anyone is having similar problems and interest in pursuing with this law suit, we feel a lot better now that we have told our story.

Does anyone know about CRS? I was called about 1 1/2 years ago at work and told that my file was being downloaded and I would be arrested if I didn 't pay a payday loan. I called my father and he did a check over the phone for over 800$. Now they are calling again saying the same thing but sayig they are with a law firm. I told them I already paid but they say there is no record of my payment. They won't send me any information on the account because of legal reasons. I am freaking out my husband says to not worry what should I do?
