slj, afni keeps calling for son who no longer lives here, has not for 3 years and they call my private phone number 9-10 times a day. When I make contact with them, they are not listning to what I am saying and I am reporting them to the Michigan harrassment servics. We have laws her in Michigan for these king of calls. Why don't they get the message?

afni is a collection agency, send a cease and desist letter and stop their collection calls on you. They are supposed to stop after receiving your letter. This is a federal law and they are required to follow it. If they break it, you can sue them for the violations and recover the cost of damages. Find the sample letter in this link and send it through certified mail with return receipt requested. Keep one copy documented in your folder for proof with date and time specified.

Debt collection phone calls can be recorded in Michigan after notifying the other party about it. Tell them that you are recording the phone call and will use it in course of legal actions. They might change their behavior.
