I received in the mail today a pre-approved credit card offer. When I opened it to shread it, this is what I found. It was an offer for a VISA card, but it said to be used for pay LVNV for a Southwestern Bell account(which I never had). It also said I would get 34.00 removed from the balance owed. The amount of credit would be for exactly for the amount they say I suppposedly owed. I did shread it as I stated, but what is up with this?

I guess this must be one of the scary tactics of LVNV Funding to steal your money. Before making any legitimate collections, the CA is required to validate the debt in writing. They just cannot send such credit cards to make you pay the debt without any documentation. Call the company and inquire about this matter. Stand your ground strongly because you already might have understood their nature of business. If you are still unsure about this company, go through some of the discussions here for better opinions.
