Has anyone had problems with Legal Mediation Practices? I got a payday loan through ACE cash express which i defaulted on, and I'm assuming this is the collection agency that they sent the account to. The people there are very rude. I tried to work out a payment plan with Legal mediation, but they refused. They contestantly call my place of employment. How could i get this to stop. I live in the Texas and i read the story about the guy who got arrested and his PDL were turned over to the DA so now I'm freaking out. This morning I got a message on my work phone saying that Legal Mediation practices made a decision and that I need to sign a legal document by 5pm today. I'm not sure what it is, but even that is freaking me out. So today is not a good day for me. Any advice is greatly appriciated.

Legal Mediation is a third party collection agency. Send them a cease and desist letter to stop the calls and only communicate in writing. Also, send them a debt validation letter requesting that this is your debt and the breakdown of information.
You will not be arrested, that situation is different and we have no further information on it other than the initial posting...that person most likely ignored many requests for payment and perhaps wrote some bad checks...
BTW..I deleted your duplicate post

Don't panic!! You are not going to get arrested. Don't sign anything without reading the papers carefully. Legal Mediation Practices is doing many illegal things all over and people are complaining against them to the BBB, FTC and the local attorney general office. You must also go and file your complaints there. Read the posts in the links below. You will figure out that this is not something new and you're not the only one getting such threats.

Follow what erzeke1 said. You have to send a debt validation letter to the collection agency and confirm that they are making a genuine collection call on you. Read the fdcpa laws also for knowing your rights.

I had a debt with this company and they gave me a payment arrangement over 6 weeks. They even went as far as getting me another loan from the same company.! They simply told me that the debt is a debt and I needed to do the right thing and pay it off. I did and that was that. Why don't you just pay the debt off like the rest of us had to? You took the money right???? Well, pay it back! If we promise to repay a debt we should honor our word!

If you make the effort to do the right thing , you will be suprised how much better you will feel and how others will go out of their way to help you!
