Should give you a good basis of what has happened to other members.
Threats of jail and arrest - standard words from many improper collectors. Threats like that violate the Fair Debt Collection Law. They are not allowed to make such threats. Main question: Has this company verified the debt with you via post mail? If not, stop in your tracks and don't send them one penny. They are required by law to send you written proof of the debt naming the creditor and the amount.
Trust your gut feeling. Call them back and ask them to mail you proof of the debt. If they refuse, go to the "Do it youself" section of this site to get a sample letter you can mail asking for debt validation. Until you know who it is and what you are paying for, don't send any money.
If I showed up on your door and demanded $500, would you give it to me? Well....I am kinda cute, BUT STILL.... :) No, you wouldn't. So be safe.

Also, if someone could get the address of this comapny for me it's called United Pay Services and the guy's name is Ron Collins.

And unless you filled out your registration wrong, Happy Birthday.

Is United Pay Services affiliated with United Federal Bank? The phone number (732-231-6372) belongs to them. I will be very careful with United Federal bank because they often use scary tactics in their collections.

Based on the posts in the other threads, I figured that sending a cease and desist letter to this company will be your perfect move. If you know the original company for whom they are collecting, try your payment arrangements with them. They will be a lot easier.
