Getting collection calls for someone else!!!!
Date: Wed, 03/07/2007 - 10:05
What can I do? I kept getting collection calls from a company called Fidelity Credit. I called a number of times and told them they had the wrong number. They told me who they were looking for and I was not him! After some months, the calls stopped. Lately, again, they are now coming from a company called National Consumer Services, which I come to find out is Fidelity, just under a different name. Lastest phone # is 727-585-4726. What can I do to make them stop? I owe no one money!! Well, I do, but I am current on absolutely everything.
Send them a cease and desist letter certified mail.
Send them a cease and desist letter certified mail.
Talk to the supervisor of the company and get your name removed
Talk to the supervisor of the company and get your name removed from their system. Tell him that his staff is looking for the wrong person at your place. Send the cease and desist letter like cajun said above. This will legally force them to stop all their calls. If they continue, keep a log of all their calls with date and time and sue. You may also record their phone calls after checking with your state laws. The recording will prove about their violating the federal laws after receiving the C&D letter.
