You don't have to yell about it, LOL!! And if everyone does know about it, Bass has a track record of routinely not following the law, as you can see by the story that just showed up in the Jacksonville newspaper. This is classic Bass behavior and no, I wouldn't put it past them!

...so a "josh' from just clld...after i said my name he goes "you;ve got a problem write this number down"...i wrote it down and when i asked him the name of the company he mumbled something like "duvall accounting..."i asked him to spell it and he said he would transfer me to someone who could. the 2nd guy on the phone asked me why his intern transferred the call to him and i told him it was because i asked him to spell the name of the company...it was then he told me he was from bass...i asked if it was bass in jacksonville and he said yes...i asked if they have a current AG investigation for this reason and he said we have a team of lawyers handling that but i have the matter at hand to deal with...i said that i would not speak with them and end the call...

Bass will use different names, depends on the person calling you. It could be also that they are trying out their new company name, they like to change it whenever they get into trouble with the Attorney General's Office. Formerly known as Ellis and Crosby, also known as: Bass and Associates, Bass Prelitigation, I'm sure there are more. Maybe they are trying to see if this Duvall Accounting will throw people off and they won't file complaints against this "new" company. The use of fictitious names for the company also breaks federal and state laws.

Hello everyone, great see you Cajun. I am truly fed up with David Jacobs and his blatant disregard for the Federal Laws. Even though attention was brought on them recently in the paper, they are still operating as usual, with their illegal threats of legal action and intimidation and lying about their company name. I can't believe they actually said that they have a team of lawyers dealing with the Attorney General's investigation, what another load of crap. When will the AG take action? How many complaints warrants legal action? I want them to be taken down already, for good, and no more alias companies.

I'm with you, Anthony. It's time to just end it and move on....

It would be great to see these thieves sent to prison and doing some time! :twisted: What does it take to get them locked up and put behind bars. It almost seems as if they are sitting back and laughing at consumers and the system because they are getting away with this! :twisted:

I hope their day comes soon. What comes around goes around! Like Steelers said in another thread, it's all about karma. Some day these clowns will get their due. In the meantime, we must encourage people to keep filing complaints against them. Not only with the AG, but also with the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission.

I agree, seeing them on the LIVE news would be so shocking and relieving. I would jump around the livingroom and pointing at them at t.v. and yelling "gotcha motherfukkers!!!"

I would love to see David Jacobs'reaction if they were ever on the news :shock: I think they would have to be downloaded first and then uploaded. Then we could arrest them with 50 people :lol:

Bass is an outside collection agency that uses illegal threats and scare tactics. They are typically calling in regards to defaulted payday loans obtained through the internet, and payday loan companies, I might add that are not licensed. Westbury is an internet pdl company that goes by many different names as well. Bass is the company usually hired by some of them to call and illegally threaten and harass consumers by threatening to have them arrested.

It could be a different collection agency all together. I think Westbury handles their collections from the inside but I could be wrong.

No, I think you are correct Mishele. My understanding is that they have an in-house collection department that handles their defaulted pdls.

I just remember from when I defaulted with them. The guy that contacted me was a real jerk. He could have worked for Bass but he used to work for Ellis. What does that tell you?

I am convinced that the many collection companies in Jacksonville are somehow related. They use different names and buildings, but do this in the case that one company is shut down, the others will still be operating. That explains why there are so many in one town. I wouldn't be surprised if they were run by organized crime members, ie: Mob.

I know these people are scum of the earth! They should be taken down and put away to spend time with their distant vermin cousin Bubba behind bars! Too bad Florida doesn't have the three strikes and your out law, then they could put the owner away for LIFE!

I would never wish Bubba to have to deal with these scumbags. Poor Bubba would need a cease and desist letter, or he would be "downloaded".

Bubba is a bad boy and I think is owed some favors from the misbehaving owner. One can have dreams.

I truly wish the authorities would come down hard on these illegal companies. It gets so frustrating to see that they carry on without consequences.
