These people (united legal) keep calling my husband to. they called about 2 months or so ago, stating that if he didn't call them back by 12 that there was going to be legal action that he bounced a check across state lines and that he was going to be arrested for bank fraund and wire fraud. well, we explained the situation that back in december our checking account had been been found out and there was fraud taking place.

we hadn't contacted the payday loan companies because when looking up the name of the companies online we couldn't find any address's or #'s. now i know that they can't say "you will be arrested",

they say they are on the phone with authorities in scott county. which is bs, because if they were we would have heard about it in the beginning of march. this is so crazy

Yes this is BS...they cannot threaten you with those things unless they are actually going to charge you with it and they are not going to charge you with it because you did not commite those crimes. They are trying to scare you into giving them the money they want right away....

There are loads of posts on this company here. Most of the people are experiencing similar problems with this company.

Cover your basis legally. Send the DV letter through certified mail with return receipt requested. This way, you will have a proof and the company is required to send details if their collections are legitimate. If they don't give you anything in writing and continue to call, report them to the DA's office.
