this is on a credit card that i got through first premier bank that they sold to this dumb company my wife and I have paid it once before now the closed the first one and opened another one with a new open date so can they keep doing this so that this acct stays on my report for the rest of my life this credit card was first delinquent in like 2004 so i am pretty sure it is past the 7 yrs and 180 days. This is just wrong what this company does.

Usually negative items remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. After that it will automatically be removed from your credit report. If the same doesn???t happen, contact with the credit bureaus immediately and inform them about this matter. Look at this page to know more about LVNV Funding, LLC:

It does not matter whether you paid it or not. Time is the factor here. You first fell behind in 2004. You count 7.5 years forward and all derog's related to the account should be removed. If they are not, send a written dispute to the reporting agencies certified mail return receipt. Copy the furnishers too if you like (LVNV, bank etc).
You suggest LVNV is reporting a different date. Often enough, this type of newer date reporting coincides with when they received the account, or some other date related benchmark.
If the matter is not straightened out on first attempt, write to the CFPB and tell your story with all the details. You can do this on the CFPB website consumerfinance.gov
