I am just over 30 days late, GE Money has "turned" my account over to Allied Interstate. I am in a DMP (first payment came out today) and I am wondering how to address this.
I received a letter, giving me 30 days to respond, blah blah blah.. Anyone care to offer up some words of wisdom??
Thank you.

Have you included GE Money in your debt management plan? If no, then you should inform the debt management company about this. If yes, then you may inform the Allied Interstate that you have enrolled in a debt management company. So, they will get back the money. Usually, the debt management companies inform the creditors and collection agencies that the debtor has enrolled into the program.

Yes, GE is included in the DMP....and, I am well aware that they can reject the DMP but also know that it is rare. In fact, in my discussions with Target, they told me that if my acccount was current, they would automatically drop the interest rate to 0% and if past due, 6% was the lowest they would go. Of the creditors I have had this discussion with, not one had issue with TCA. BUT, Target did say they only deal with non-profits. It was interesting information.
I am shocked that they turned this over to Allied in such a short time. The letter does indicate to go to the GE website to make payment so I am confused about the introduction of Allied into this?

Hi Soaplady, I understand that the CA doesn't need to accept the DMP terms and that they can reject the plan. Can they do it at any point of time? Or can they only reject it when it commences?
