I sent a DV to Arrow, they recied it on 5-21, ASG sends me a letter that same day saying they took over Arrow...WTF is that all about?

Unfortunately, these jerks behave like this when you ask them to validate the account. But you have no other option except exercising your legal rights. You have to bear this small expense and keep yourself protected legally. If there is any dispute, you will surely be able to prove all the actions taken in resolving this debt account.

Hmm true, its a small expense rather then paying something outrageous cuz I didn't try...

I have a good question, arrow financial services is on my credit report, what can I send to the CRA that would have them delete it? I tried disputing it online but it says I've already done it.

Should I send the CRA the new letter from ASG and the Return receipt from Arrow? Showing that the same day they received my letter they transfered it to someone else?

I was able to pull up one credit file online and it showed Arrow Finance on it and I have never heard of them before today. What are they a company that buys old accounts? Please give any advise. Is there a place in this forum where a person can find a sample letter to get debts removed and other things done for your credit? Thank youand GOD bless.

d2dtk--yes, you should contact the CRA. I am confused about this--did you just recently dispute this account? Because the CRA does not have the right to refuse to accept your request for investigation. how long has it been since you disputed it with them?

I would contact them and send them a copy of the letter you sent as well as the new letter from ASG--show the CRA that Arrow has voluntarily refused to validate this debt, and because of that, according to federal law, it MUST be removed immediately. The FCRA states that if a creditor cannot validate the debt then it is to be removed from your credit file. Section 611 of the FCRA details this information. You may want to reference this in the letter you send them, and inform them that if they remain in violation of the FCRA by not allowing you to reinvestigate this entry, you will then consider legal action against them for it. This should be more than sufficient to get them to change their mind about how you already disputed it. They have no legal standing to refuse your request because you already disputed something--you can dispute an entry whenever you choose and they cannot stop you.

A dv letter is for collectors only to validate the debt. For original creditors we would use a verification letter and enforce it under either Facta or Fcra.D2,I responded in your other post about certified return receipt to credit bureaus.I find us mail works fine for them unless they are being real jerks& you plan on filing suit against them in the future.
