send them a letter stating what you tried to do over the phone. When faced with the choice is trying to collect more or taking what they can get, they will likely accept it. Don't let the rude ones get you off track. stick to your guns and they will work with you (they wilol complain, scream and stuff but they will work with you.

Yes, keep everything documented when dealing with the company. That's the only way you will have a proof of the arrangements done from your side. Send what you can afford with your proposal letter. They will certainly cash the check when money is put in their hands.
Checkmate is being difficult
I read my contract and there is no voluntary wage assignment which is what I thought anyway but I had called Checkmate "collections" today as a courtesy to tell them the account is closed, they will get the check back account closed and that I needed to make payment arrangements. After stating this and making offer (I will let T & C actually do the proposal and send payment, etc.) she went off on me and stated that I was refusing to pay the loan (why would I call if I was refusing to pay???)and that she was disconnecting the call and contacting my employer to pursue the check. Can I/should I report this to DFI/AG if she is threatening this? I'm sure she didn't call and it was a scare tactic anyway. I don't have any proof but it really pissed me off that she treated me that way and I thought I was doing the right thing by contacting them! Can't win for losing! Should I let it go or pursue it only if they start harrassing or threatening further? I'm in AZ so I know I could record calls. Too bad this one wasn't.
T & C
T & C is Town and Country Acceptance Corporation. They are a debt management company that helped me with all my payday loans. I would highly recommend them if you don't feel comfortable handling the payday loans on your own.
