Does anyone know anything about this company? I got this call today and they threatened warrant. They called my mom and grandmother too.

First check whether the name of the CA is listed in your credit report or not. If it is listed there in your report, you need to send them a debt validation letter by certified mail. If they are not in your credit report, the CA must send you a DV notice within 5 days of initial communication over phone in order to start the process of debt collection.

If you didn't get anything in writing, assume it is a scam and report it to the FTC, the FCC, and your state Attorney General.

If they are going to say "warrant" fresh out of the gate, it doesn't bode well for them. And they must be brand new, the only thing I could find on them is their website (the address noted above is from that website). I did find a UK company in Bristol with the same name.

Checking all businesses with "Cred X" in their name on the BBB, I come up with 3 companies:
1: A Canadian company that the BBB believes is Closed.
2: A credit repair service in New York. The BBB has requested info from them, but the company has not responded.
3: A "Consumer Finance & Loan Co. - Credit & Debt Counseling" company in Phoenix, AZ

This conflicting information leads me to believe that this is a scam and I wouldn't write them or call them until and unless they send you, in the mail, a dunning letter specifying what the debt is and who it is for. No letter, no talking! File a complaint with the FCC, the FTC, and your State Attorney General if they continue to call without mailing you that letter.

Thanks. They called today at work and it is the company out of New York. Funny thing is it was the same guy with a different name. I didn't talk to them and just sent them straight to my voice mail. Oh and today I get on my voice mail that if I didn't contact them within the next 48 hours then they will begin proceeding to get their $$. Anyway getting ready to file complaints. Thanks again.

They violate all collection procedures. They have been harrassing my parents about a debt I owe. I have talked to a lawyer, and I am filing a huge lawsuit against them....Its one thing to call me, its another thing to harass someone not directly involved..

did you give them any info like a bank account or credit card number?if so cancel that immediately.use the address in this thread to send these ny sewer rats a DV letter.send it certified mail return receipt.this lady(and i use that term loosely)broke the law in threatening like that.also file an AG complaint against this bottomfeeding scam.do not wait for them to send something in writing as scams never do,or will try to tell you they can't.again stop or cancel whatever you gave them as this is a complete scam that do a thing.the license threat is toothless.

Berg4348..I have been experiencing the same thing from CDR( Cred X Recovery)..1st they have already violated the Fair Debit Collection Practice Act by making threats toward you. It's illegal to make deceit threats of any type toward a consumer. I have obtained legal advice via Lemberg Law who specializing in lawsuits against debt collectors who deceitfully practice these type of tactics and violate the FDCPA. In addition you can file a complaint to the FTC and NY State Attorney General's Office. Send them a "Cease and Desist" letter, you can google a sample. Make sure you send it certified mail. If you file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) they will see this is a pattern and will investigate.

Hope this information helps!

I have been receiving multiple calls from this CDR company as well. I have been asking for them to send me there Company info, what I owe in writing and whom to make the payment too. They would not give it to me for a week yet still harrass me at work and home. I have asked them to stop calling me at work because I cannot take personal calls but they have not. This Ms. Milan has threatened me as well. That I would face court charges and action. I did get in contact with an attorney group to see how I can handle this because it is super frustrating!! I think its fishy and I will not give up any of my info. I did get asked for my checking account number along with a debit card and when I wouldnt give it to them they told me they would call my manager. This is getting out of control. I hope to find resolution soon!

This Cred-X company Is real but their very rude people. How I found out that they were real was because I took up a loan with cash net and when I called cash net they told me that my claim was In collections and that they sold It to DMP. I then called DMP and they sold It to a second lender called Cred-X Debt Recovery and gave me the same contact number that they had called me from so that's the only way I knew It was real.....pay your debt people you don't know what this company Is capable of doing. They very much can sue but you can also sue to because It's also against the law for this company to call anyone In your household to discuss your debt with them other than yourself. I do agree with y'all about this company being disrespectful but this collection agency Is real. You have to go threw the proper chain of commands to get them just as well as they got you. If you took up a loan and It's In collections just pay it off you can settle. They do send you settlements In the mail. However this company Is breaking all the laws by not sending letters out.

of course they are real.that doesn't make them less of a bottomfeeding JDB of illegal pdls.btw you said cash net.then that loan is illegal, and making threats of a lawsuit on a basically non-enforceable debt that the person only owes the principle, and threatening criminal charges is also illegal.bottomline your wonderful bottomfeeder should be reported, not paid.so nice schpiel, but no they don't deserve a dime, and i won't advise just paying without something in writing first.
