From reading your forum, I'm hoping someone out there can give me some help asap. I currently have 8 online PDL's that are now in default. Had gotten into a bad situation financially and one lead to another, and was able to keep them up for a few months then I got behind on my other bills. The bank suggested that I close the account and start over, so I did. Now here is where the problem comes in. None of the companies want to take a payout plan, and all of them want the entire balance at once which I cannot do.

Payday Avenue even contacted my employer revealing the status of my loan and sent a wage assignment. I new this wasn't legal, so I contact my payroll department, and they told the representative that the only way they would garnish an employee's wages was by a court order. Haven't hear from them since, but expecting a phone call of some sorts any day.

The huge problem at this point is a place called Bass & Associates. Someone called me on Friday and told me that I needed to hire an attorney as they were going to take action against me for fraud. I was in a total panic, as they had threatened to have me arrested at work and taken to jail. Not only that, but since I had applied for it online at work, they were threatening to contact my employer and fine them. Can they really do this? They are giving me until 2:00 CST time today to pay almost all of it. I only borrowed $300, and they want me to pay $775.

I'm not sure about the laws in my state, which is Oklahoma, but I surely didn't think someone could file criminal charges for defaulting on a payday loan. Is there a way I can consolidate these into one montly payment. I'm not in trouble on any of my other bills, but can't keep on incurring interest, late fees, etc. from these people.

I need any advise anyone can offer at this point. I'm scared that Bass & Assoc. may actually try to file charges against me today!

You will not be arrested, charged with fraud or any of the threats they stated. Bass and Associates is not their real name. THey are fraudulantly using this name. Their name is Bass Prelitigations located in Jacksonville, Florida. You need to file a complaint against them for the threats with the AG of Florida. You can go to the AG of Flordia website and file an online complaint or contact them a they will send you a complaint form to fill out. Next time Bass Prelitigations contacts you, let them know that you know they have violated the fdcpa and they are fraudulantly using the name Bass & Associtates.

Thanks for the information. I'll contact them immediately. Have called my states AG and am filing a complaint with the State Department of Consumer Affairs. Also have filed a complaint with the FTC on both Bass & Assoc. as well as Payday Avenue.

Do you know if there are any companies out there that I can contact that do payday loan consolidations. I want to pay all of these, just can't do it all at once and would like one monthly payment that's affordable.

Thank you again.

gpcp-you need to make sure these aren't operating illegally, before you pay them. Alot of online ones are not. Since you signed up and became a memeber, someone will contact you soon regarding your free credit counseling. there are companies that do pay day loan consoladation. You are right, one payment is more affordable than several, plus the lower interest helps too. Good Luck!...Karen
