Hey gang... anyone ever heard of this operation? Short for National Action Financial Services... a quick google didn't pull up much info.

I checked my credit report recently and saw that these guys did a hard inquiry the other day. I have no bad debt at the moment! But I wonder if I should call them just to see what it is they're scheming... should I call them?

I called. Apparently, they purchased some old credit card debt that was from 10 years ago... this derogatory account fell off my report about a year or so ago. He said that just because they can't sue me for the money, it doesn't mean that they can't try to collect on bad debt. I was cool with the guy, told him I understood that, but that this was some error (he was a kid and sounded pretty green... I said I think I settled the account in question like 5 years ago anyway (which is not true), but regardless, the account is past SoL and dropped off my report 1-2 years ago.) I then asked him about removing the inquiry and he said to the best of his knowledge, that's not possible. Didn't sound like he/they were going to try pursuing this - and we hung up amiably.

Should I do anything else at this point?

Hey, I had the same problem just yesterday, 1/25/08. They did a hard inquiry and they purchased some old account (discover card) that is 10 years old. This must be their M.O. I also looked them up and they have a horrible reputation in the community and have had to pay monies in a class action law suit for bad practices.

To the post above:
I hope that you really understand exactly how ugly those words are. Sure, there are people out there that do leech, but you wanna know what? There are also people out there that go through a rough patch and get into situations they would not have expected. I work damn hard every day and do pay my bills but there are some things that got out of control because of events I didn't anticipate. SO before you go lumping everyone on this site into a damn category, take a good look at your life that you've worked so hard for and PLEASE think about what would happen if something happened to you that you couldn't control! At least some of these people are asking for information to contact the company to get their accounts straight. NOW, what are you doing here if you are working hard and paying all your bills? Wouldn't that mean that you should have no concern with debt-consolidation? I'm sorry to be long-winded, and I will probably never venture on this site again, and you may not either, but at least I can be a voice for the people who are trying to make it right!

me being a bill collector myself i would advise u not to do this if u dont want them to persue u for a bill. because a hard inquiry was done that means u do have something that is delinquent that u have to take care of becuase cbr's cost money. the compan y would not have done it for no reason. and never tell them u have no debt because that would make ur account 'hot' meaning u could possibly pay off the bill.

u have somethings and information wrong. we cant search the web "looking for u" we have to clearly have ur ss# which would come from u applying for a credit card or for a doctors office any thing that u put ut ss# on. and to see a full cbr ur account has to be in the office. u cant look at it neother way.
